  1. £2.27 is first class recorded for a 45.
  2. Yep 500 copies of each and the one track recoding studio.
  3. DJmadlad seems to be the one in the know, the info is probably on his site.... https://www.djmadlad.com
  4. Bit of info and a photo of the Newsounds on John Ridley's site.... https://www.sirshambling.com/artists_2012/T/robert_tanner/
  5. According to Funky Virginia the 45's were first lp later which is how I understood it to be. https://funkyvirginia.blogspot.co.uk/2008_08_01_archive.html can't find much evidence yet of the interview Steve mentions.
  6. Dawson Smith and Tanner are still residing in Lynchberg or they were the last I read.
  7. Or Suspicion. Maybe Minshull played Sam Dees?
  8. Dunno what people expect. They are essentially pop records with the soul/R&B market never given a second thought when released, they weren't aimed at that market, neither was this show. We could sit here and debate all day long and then some about what why and how and come up with a dozen different results as Soul Source's own poll and debate highlighted. Just be thankful something like this is getting some attention at peak viewing time. PS I haven't watched it yet, no TV signal in Mid Wales and the only running water was the nearby river
  9. It might be a case of the post office making it a small parcel rather than the sender?
  10. I no longer give Sky any of my hard earned money Pete so as you say not much use. An upload to mixcloud as Steve show or Soul Discovery via iTunes etc would be good.
  11. The show could do with a podcast or at least an online listen again. Usually busy when it is on.
  12. Just looked at a couple of receipts. 23rd June..... Small parcel 1st Class Recorded UK £3.20 weight 0.196kg Also a UK ISgned for 1st Large Letter 0.145kg £2.34 UK Special Delivery £7.15 Finland (Value £50) £8.70 (£11.20 I think over £50) Europe Internationally signed for £11.90 (over £50)
  13. Hi Steve, I think Andy was charged £4 other day for postage of a 45.
  14. I used one of those mailers you have to fold up with three pieces of card, was still £2.25 or thereabouts.
  15. Has it gone up. I posted one two weeks ago and it was £2.25 ish recorded. Was about £6 special delivery.
  16. Ron Baxter and Lonnie Russ.
  17. Who played it Dave, one of those I have in my list but no DJ.
  18. I don't think it was 50, John told me he took as many as he could get on a finger.
  19. Think a lot did that Phil to get airplay, nearly three minutes often considered to long for radio. Great record and good to know who it really is. Wish I could be over there to see the show. Are you filming it Honky?
  20. Thanks for the reminder. Working Sunday so won't be home, set the recorder
  21. Boots so I've read. Who put them out?
  22. It's popularity might have been on the rise the last 15-20 years but it was around long before that. It got little turntable action because it wasn't considered good enough at the time and it was too common for the rare soul scene, there were copies everywhere. I certainly heard it and knew about it in the 80's as did many others.
  23. a recent discovery, 30 plus years recent?
  24. Not any more. Hammered that much first three notes and its a yawn, another DJ with no imagination
