  1. I would have thought it would have fetchec twice what it sold for at least!

tes it is surprising just how many of the so called big money rarities there are out there, some you seem to hear everywhere. And check your messages Ian D

I have it down as an Ian Clark spin so that would make it 82/83 at Stafford, he could have been playing it earlier?
  4. I guess we will never know the demographic of those who are bidding. Ebay seems more than dodgy these days with shill bidding and mates bidding up prices. Of the legitimate bidders it would be intersting to see their age & the reason (for the collection or DJing etc), are they following trends and in man cases why not go to forums and request a want rather than pay what are perceived as inflated prices.
  5. It isn't a quest to vary playlists is it, its a quest to follow the flock, the sheep mentality. As younsay above a year ago it was a £30 record, demo £60 or £75 maybe. If the person whomsaw fit to pay so much had come on eher and offered a ton, he would have got an offer of loads of copies. As for who is involved in the prductions I doubt most even bother to find out.

Why buy another copy? You migh as well save your money play them frm a cd and have the real one going round the turntable
  7. Think I paid a fiver back in the 80's. Tim Brown sold a demo either earlier this year or last for £30. That is all it was and cheaper for years. Some loon paid a fortune and all of a sudden everyone wants serious money for a record that in the scheme of things is pretty common.
  8. It had the Swans "Nitty Gritty City" on the flip.
  9. I missed one as couldn't hear but got th rest.
  10. Be good to catch up mate, been a while.
  11. I'd have to agree it is more likely a four figure item these days, especially seeing some of the records fetch huge amounts that are nowhere near as rare.
  12. The three magazines Pete Lawson published (well two one was unpublished at the time of his death) are on my site, great readin as is Jock's magazine which is also on my site and another excellent read. Both in either pdf or ebook format. The link for my site is in my signature.
  13. I think John McClure had one in his box last weekend. Johnmcc on here.
  14. I think Tim's was maybe some sort of Goldmine test press when they were compiling the CD, could be, probably wrong? They did I'm sure when doing the cd list it as unissued I think??
  15. It looked ok although I didn't inspect it too closely. He has played it at Lifeline a few times.

    Conducted
  17. It isn't unissued but I only know of the one copy and Butch has that.
  18. Guy told me it came from Rob Smith as Steve said above, Guy to his credit said Rob should get the credit for it.
  19. If it didn't matter then why comment? The video above is just over 2 years, June 2012. Like I said the discussion was before this video was posted, when I'm not really bothered.
  20. I realsie that I was simply questioning the relation between the two Tommy's when they don't sound remotely like each other. At least the question has been answered.
  21. It was a discussion in a group on the raresoulforum or FB I think 3 or 4 years ago.
  22. Far rarer than many of the big auction items of late IMO.
  23. I had a sound file for a long time, don't recall where I got it from or who but I posted it online before it was on Youtube.
  24. It may not have been Mark but pretty sure I've heard it at Lifeline.
