Advert On The Itv Today
I would imagine they are privy to what is being said and like I said they must be happy the way it has gone by and large. I agree there has been some nasty comments and they are totally unjustified and uncalled for, Dave nor any of those in the adverts deserved some of the crap directed their way. But the dress, the portrayal of the scene in these media campaigns, the constant impression that everything today is as it was in 1974 to 1977, it does p*ss a large amount of people off because it isn't how they want the scene portrayed nor themselves to those on the outside, but they should behave like adults when giving their opinion. And yes life would be poorer without the scene although I could live without it as I would still have the music and that is what it is ultimately about.

Advert On The Itv Today
You are right in everything you say but everyone is also entitled to an opinion. As long as it isn't personal and vindictive then I see nothing wrong in giving those opinions. And after all this is a forum, debate, argue and pass comment is what happens on them. People who have invested time money and effort into the scene are entitled to an opinion. Just because you or others don't agree with it doesn't make that opinion wrong, doesn't make it right either for that matter, there is no right or wrong. I said earlier people can dress how they like, it doesn't bother me each to their own, some of the clothing in the ad looks smart. But people must be pretty naivé to think an advert can be made and no comment will be passed. Those who made the advert are probably pretty happy with all the talk, both good and bad, shredded wheat has had tons of free publicity.

Reissues With Exact Label Scans
Why on earth would you spend £112 on a boot? It has to be because they are DJing with it. It the argument was simply to play some vinyl at home then you get a carver cut at £30 and save almost £100, make the labels yourself. The scene was built and based on rare 45's in their original format. That seems to have been lost along with a lack of imagination. What happened to DJ's getting a set because they actually had something different to bring to the party and not the same as the previous DJ? The whole market has become infested with boots, google any particular record and you will get a result for somewhere like Juno with one of these lookalikes or ebay with the same. Ebay is a waste of time, far too much time wasted trying to find anything decent amongst the boots. What are the record companies doing about these sellers, surely they are watching places like ebay? Are they bothered? As for DJing if you don't have the records leave it to those who do, there are enough of them without the need to resort to boots.

Looking For Garnet Mimms - As Long As I Have You
I like it myself and I am happy with the LP, carrying LP's doesn't worry me in the slightest. Played the track out myself the odd time some years ago.

Oxford Nights
The will always be spurious claims of legitimacy about the second press, often by those selling or owning a copy. It was Lil Peddler, Julian Fowler who had all or a lot of the 2nd press. His wife sister was married to the drummer or something like that. I think all the claims were made to simply sell the copies. After all they were unlikely to say they were a recent press and effectively worth a tenner or so and not what they were actually selling them for. I personally think they are recent and were made to make a fast buck after seeing the cost of the original.

Looking For Garnet Mimms - As Long As I Have You
The need for shelling out several hundred for the french 45 just to get the right version so they don't have to carry an extra heavy LP is beyond me. It is the original format as well and it's not as though they weigh that much more. The money saved would fund more vinyl!

If they weren't aware it just shows how little some take notice as most I know sussed them straight away. Is this record getting another lease of life? I hope not

Reissues With Exact Label Scans
Exactly. Ebay is a joke, they couldn't give a toss about bootleggers because they are making money out of them. There is no wonder many are deserting ebay.

Buddy Holly And Motown?
I don't think there is any direct connection between Buddy Holly and Motown, not while he was alive. I've never read of one.

£25 And Under Dj Sets
I would have thought the idea was to play records that have a considered value of £25 not what you paid. We have all had bargains but that isn't the point. I would be asking for my money back if records were being played that I couldn't go to a dealer and buy for £25 or under.

Advert On The Itv Today
It isn't what is being worn in these adverts. The fashion depicted was fashion for a short time mid 70's, it soon passed for another. Why does everyone who wishes to portray the soul scene want to depict the certain type of clothes being shown when it isn't the case except for a minority. It isn't the adverts that is the problem, it isn't those in them but how the scene is perceived to be. You only have to go on other social media outlets. The ridiclue being shown is far worse than here. I am all for anyone wearing what they want but I do wish they would stop using the image they are using everytime they wish to use the scene to sell their product.
