  1. Was Popcorn formally tied to Motown in 59 when it was still as a company in its infancy and probably couldn't afford to retain a team of writers, I though it was a year later when the ties were more formal. Popcorn was also recording himself elsewhere and writing for others so maybe it was simply two tracks he hawked round various parties and sold to the only interested party. I don't see the obvious motown link only a tenuous one.
  2. Sorry if I have missed it but what is the Festival Records link? US Festival or Aus/NZ?
  3. 32 I think mate but will check when I get the chance.
  4. Boot isn't it lifted form the LP?
  5. It's also on the Ohio Players Superpak LP on Trip, that's the only two sources I believe.
  6. Will told me a day or so ago he was hoping for some news in the next few days so hopefully it will be resolved soon. He did say it has been a nightmare getting records pressed and sorry for the delay.
  7. It would be naive to think racism didn't exist in some people who frequent the scene. Many were brought up in an era when words and phrases that are now quite rightly considered racist they were once commonplace amongst many and used on a daily basis. It can be hard for people to get out of their system things learnt early on in life Those that do have racist tendencies thankfully do not show them at venues and as the scene consists of people from all walks of life it would be foolish to think elements of life do not come with some. But the topic in question is about racism at venues and black people suffering racism, did it or does it happen, not are there racist people on the scene of which there undoubtedly are. I have never witnessed anyone racially abused, insulted or threatened because of their colour. I'm not saying it hasn't happened, posts on this topic suggestive has but I personally have never witnessed any. I'm getting fed up of minor celebrities jumping on the bandwagoning professing to be an authoritative figure about something they no little or nothing about.
  8. hi Steve that is exactly what I had set up yet it said no extra shipping. Did you enter any other figures.
  9. Is there a digital version of this article?
  10. Is this the same Craig Charles who has been......nowhere on this scene? I've never seen him anywhere, never at a nighter nor a soul night other than using his celebrity status to get a gig at a lee fields concert? Anyway in answer to the question I've never witnessed any racist behaviour. I would imagine derogatory words and what is considered racist speak has been used in conversation probably as a product of the era in which whichever person was brought up, no excuse I know. But I've never witnessed nothing with any malicious, derogatory racist intent to another because of their skin colour.
  11. I was told because of the delay I would receive the bonus CD with all the bonus 45's on it. I know others who received their LP's as well, must be 6 weeks maybe longer ago.
  12. I've also emailed Will again. Hopefully some news re pressing plant.
  13. I've never seen one in the flesh either, only on youtube.
  14. £35 I'm seeing it at these days.
  15. what does your shipping policy say Dave? When I uncheck all the countries I get what you have but it says in my settings I won't ship to however many countries.
  16. Having gone into my settings it now says I don't accept orders from the EU, anyone else having the same trouble?
  17. They were having trouble with the pressing plant and was hoping to have it sorted last week I think it was. Last heard from him two or three weeks ago and like you awaiting the third volume of the LP's.
  18. I don't know if you have noticed Discogs have changed their shipping policies. It is now set by default to Worldwide with no shipping costs. That means if you look at your listing it says no shipping cost at the side of the item cost. I've had a couple now who have bought and paid straight away and was wondering why? To get round it! Go into you shipping policies and select the default one, once you click on it you should see the countries listed down the left, uncheck the European Union etc and just leave the rest of the world, USA, Canada, Japan, and then save. That should now say + SHIPPING at the side of your item.
  19. Ian Wright plays it or has it as Imset the deal up with Hammy in the Taxi Club playlist. Hoss spins it too if I remember rightly. It'll probably be booted within the hour now they see some big names playing it.
  20. Having trouble with Issue 26, won't download says file damaged?
  21. Yep I will sort the final couple.
  22. I have to agree with Tim regarding the Northern aspect but JD Bryant is one of my favourite mid tempo tracks.
  23. Terrible tragic news. Popular lad who will be greatly missed by all who knew him. My sympathies and condolences to his family and friends. R.I.P. Phil.
  24. looking good, nice to see chat return
  25. A digital download would be ideal for me, carry it anywhere. I'd even put the book together if they haven't the time
