  1. Kev Murphy had the other. All issue copies destroyed bar three according to Eddie Holman. After LC died before its release.
  2. not sure if the one in the above folder good enough? Will check if I have anymore
  3. Hi Dave sure I have a few of him on stage at Yarmouth. Will get back to you soon as possible
  4. Far too may promoters just promoting on a wing and a prayer, hoping they get enough in to cover costs. The guest Dj should be paid an agreed amount regardless whether the promoter makes a profit or not. Bout time half of them packed it in anyway. There is also far too many somcalled Dj's who will do it for nothing, just to get behind some decks and get their name on a flyer.
  5. I bet the limited edition model is well over£1k. I bet normal model isnt far off a grand.
  6. Another great performance on this... Seems he was trying to tell everyone something with some of the titles he took lead on
  7. Thanks Pete and everyone else for the really great comments. Really is appreciated and nice to see the article so well received.
  8. Richard has played the track recently on his radio show(s). Collecting records, like art is a personal thing, most collectors of any sort don't have their collections open to the public so why should records be any different. I like nothing better than to hear unissued material but can fully understand why collectors don't share. Oh and it is on one of the Stafford Story podcasts I did of Richards contribution to the venue.
  9. Far too many dealers out there who don't play it straight and wait till they get caught out by saying they were unaware themselves....yeah right. Unfortunately the record collecting market, like any other collecting market isn't one that can be done on a wing and a prayer, knowledge is a must and if you don't know then ASK no matter how trivial you think the question is. If something is too good to be true it usually is.
  10. Some great selections which just goes to show decent music is still being made. Mick's show is a must listen for me and he does get behind the records and gives them a few weeks air play in some cases so they stay in your mind and not immediately forgotten. I've not heard this show yet so I'd better catch up. Happy New Year and many thanks Mick, keep up the good work
  11. For my sins I've decided to have a go at the book...as If I don't have enough in my life to keep me busy If you think a venue is worthy of inclusion shout up. Any memories, dates anything you feel; might be relevant let me have it. I'm also looking for flyers, and memorabilia. Scans 300dpi or a loan so I can scan and I will return. I am also looking for copies of the Echoes post 1980. Again a loan with promise of return after scanning. Full credit also given.
  12. Providing we are talking about the same copy. But even so I've no wish to name any names till its proven one way or t'other
  13. Everything he did was musical gold, phenomenal singer.
  14. I agree whoever is selling them as originals should be named but not until the buyer has sought recompense. For all we know the seller could well be acting in good faith. Someone is on the case, see what comes out of it first. if the seller knew it was a bootleg then he is in some bother, morally and legally.
  15. You can actually see all the MSI CO markings now its blown up I doubt its a vanity project. Whoever has done these playing a clever game IMO. Beaides it's gone past vanity as someone has paid good money for one just recently by the sounds of things.
  16. Thanks mate and where does the time go? I'll be in touch when I get this book started
  17. I have the date for every flyer and pretty easy to find out as well. If you go to my flickr album there are something like a 100 flyers from the period in high quality with the date. https://flic.kr/s/aHsjKmkiZt
  18. Could be mate, I thought a 2 at first but it does look too curved for me, like an S but would imagine it being a number. Pretty sure it is the beginning of a C after the three numbers.
  19. Looks like what could be 481 or 181 then what could be a C and maybe a faint something else unless it is the label
  20. I would have thought anything unreleased and on a legit release then fair game, play them out. I have played some of the recent M-pac/Onderful releases out "Take Me To Your Leader and the brilliant Otis Clay 45 that came with one of the LP releases.
  21. Keni Rightout "Right Now (I Really Feel That I Can Change Your Mind)"
  22. boot if I remember rightly, very little info on label
  23. Soultown before Four Beat Tony? What venues and what was the years etc. Any flyers? If anyone can supply me with either original flyers or send me a 300dpi scanner any venue they ran that you think should be included in an expanded article or indeed a book that would be great. You can view a load of flyers I scanned here https://flic.kr/s/aHsjKmkiZt
  24. Got to mention that place as well
  25. Yep I've Westhoughton and The Orwell to add at some point.
