  1. Dont have many for your promotions mate, so if you have any
  2. Think Guy Hennigsn selling one.
  3. here you go, the ALCO matrix. The 2/5 or 2/9 is actually an a, l & c.
  4. And it isn't the Monarch Pressing plant Triangle. It is the Greek Delta sign. Monarch is MR or MR in a circle!
  5. The 2/5 in a circle could actually be an 'a' with the slash being the 'L' and the 5 or also seen as a 9 being the 'c', therefore an ALCO press who also used the Delta numbering system.
  6. C'mon there is plenty of promoters and ex promoters on here, surely some of =you have something to offer?
  7. You can also get a full refund if not happy.
  8. It sure will, looking forward to it though. The more help I get he easier it will be though. I also need photos of venues and people, particularly on the dance floor. 300dpi or again a loan would be great.
  9. I also need help from my friends worldwide as I will dedicate time in the book to the scene outside of the UK. So if you promoted an event worldwide please PM me with the details, dates, flyers etc.
  10. Very good mate. I will see how things are and if home, hopefully pop up for a beer or two
  11. After the article was well received I've been persuaded to write the book. I will shortly be getting stuck into the research bit (already started for one or two areas/venues) and need some help with venues. I would like to include as many as possible, especially if they ran for any length of time. I'm after all-nighter promotions to begin with but in time I will include influential soul nights, all-dayers and weekenders. So basically please get in touch. I need dates when the promotion started and finished, music policy, djs and any other information that you might think useful. Scans of any flyers at 300dpi would be great or if you can't scan a loan of any material with the promise of a return by recorded post. I would like to make this as comprehensive was possible so any help will be greatly appreciated. If you didn't promote but have any flyers for venues post Wigan, particularly 1990 up to today scans would be brilliant. Again if you cannot scan them then maybe a loan of any material with the promise of recorded post return. I will also include a chapter covering the influential DJ's of the last 35 years or so. So if you were one of them I will be in touch. Please PM and I will pass on my contact details. Many thanks Chalky
  12. There's another press of the JE Morgan on M.G.S. where his name is spelt JE Morsan.
  13. The delta numbering sytem was used by several companies. If it is a monarch press it would have MR in a circle. Then come the delta number, the triangle followed by the number. ALCO also used the same sytsem , ALC inside a cirlce followed by tne triangle then the number. X denotes the b side.
  14. Counterfeiting is something replicated to look the same as the original and to deceive or if you like defraud. That includes the art work and the medium that carries it. What you are talking about is plain old bootlegging. Something that has been about long before the beatles, any rock group and northern soul. Bootlegging is the distribution of unlicensed material, be it music, film, money, booze or cigs.
  15. Between June and July 1976 that delta number.
  16. Andy Dyson has the Eddie Parker Ady.
  17. Yes mate Adrian's would be great. I'll wait till In have a n hour to call though lol
  18. Ey up mate Look forward to the PM Can you get me a 300 DPI scan of the flyer or loan me the flyer? Bernie been in touch as well
  19. Cheers Martin. I remember going to Turnup's (or was it Rebels) later in the 80's, 86 or 87. I also remember a do at Josephines I think let 80's, night club near Mucky Duck in Sheffield. PS You don't have a contact number for Crofty do you?
  20. Much appreciated they were as well mate
  21. Hi Robin Some sounds would be great pal. With each club/venue I'd like to list a selection of records associated with it. I do have an echoes with advert(s) for the Manchester SAS events, October I think 1981. I think it is there where Dave Withers unleashed all the unissued Motown. Flyers and/or a ticket would be fantastic Derek....if you can locate them
  22. There is only one of us who doesn't seem to grasp the matter in question. A bootleg is illegal, end of. Buying a bootleg is illegal in the US I think although not 100%, it should be here too. Whether resources would be used to chase those who buy them is a different matter. There is no grey area regarding previously unreleased material, it is still subject to copyright law and permission is required before it is copied or distributed. As for an acetate you don't own the rights and don't have permission to press copies of it and distribute. You need to seek the permission of the rights holder. The selling of intellectual property that’s protected by copyright law is a crime regardless of any demand.
  23. Bootlegging is copyright theft. Whilst they may not have stolen your money, you actually gave it freely, you are or were buying illegal copies of music, no copyright was paid, no royalties to anyone due them etc etc. As said earlier bootlegging isn't just unreleased or live music, it is the distribution of anything unlicensed. I think that is what others are intimating. I agree entirely it isn't the same as what is happening here and elsewhere, counterfeits, done to look the same and to defraud or deceive people.
  24. Whilst a bootleg was at one time generally concert music but not always the case, a bootleg is actually any music (or other product, booze, cigarettes) published illegally. 2. To produce, distribute, or sell without permission or illegally: A counterfeit is one that is done to look like the real thing with the aim to deceive. 1. To make an imitation or copy of (something), usually with the intent to defraud:
