  1. One of the great books about this fabulous thing called Soul.
  2. That makes it a April/May 1971 press. If it was monarch it will have MR in a circle. So it was done after the Liberty deal.
  3. It didn't get issued initially, maybe because if the dustribution deal with Chess ending? The issue has different distributors. The issue still done by Red Coach and totally legit. Most records are only ever pressed if there is demand.
  4. 1971 delta number would 83*** to 86***
  5. 69 on the Imperial discography too
  6. Mama's Love/You gave me up has Oct 1969 as its release date on 45cat
  7. What are the run out details? If it was pressed at monarch it will have a delta number
  8. Soul Source glitteratti and normans...you like your cliches don't you. My collecting habits are far from restricted to the Northern, far from it, as are those of NCFC so to calass us as Normans is bit wide of the mark. It doesn't stimulate my interest I am afraid and can't see the appeal of it.
  9. Yes they are the same as the Imperial Tribulations. In Shelly's book he tells of his visit to Liberty to do the deal. https://books.google.co.uk/books?id=lRLaCQAAQBAJ&pg=PA20&dq=Shelly+Garrett+-+the+tribulations&hl=en&sa=X&redir_esc=y#v=onepage&q=Shelly Garrett - the tribulations&f=false
  10. I'm just listening and reading the descriptions and wondering if I am reading about the same record I am listening to. Distinctly average.
  11. I never had the Empires down as a white group? Anyone have any details?
  12. Bits & Pieces was around £125, not sure of late mind
  13. Seen Carstairs demo for 150...issue fetches 75/80, popsike one cheap IMO but then again many have deserted eBay.
  14. Came across this a couple of years ago via one of the band members. Shelly is Shelly Garrett's label.
  15. I don't know, I presume the Childs Brothers are at the back with Walter & Sherman in the middle.
  16. Walter Smith was lead on some of the One-Derful releases, he went onto leave the group and form Walter & The Admerations (La Cindy).
  17. Yep. First release on Paree, then Peaches and then on to One-Derful.
  18. Got this photo from Robert Pruter of the Admirations. I asked him who the member Myles was who it turns out is Sherman Myles. In the photo, Ralph, Bruce and Kenneth Childs, Walter Smith and Sherman Myles and an unknown as of yet, presume it is the guitarist whose name we don't know.
  19. I know this is a 1965 release but was it recorded earlier? His other single for Coral was 1959 I think and I've read he left the business in 1961?
  20. Isn't he Irish?
  21. Yep I posted the photo also of the Symbol group
  22. 4th act down....not sure if complete? https://www.bradfordtimeline.co.uk/mindex67f.htm
