So are we any nearer confirming whick Lou Johnson it is?
-
I did an edit. Also one for Hal Davis.
-
Wasn't every six weeks or ao back in the 80s with time off in the summer? if just a tenth if the retro oldies crowd supported the likes of the 100 club and Lifeline in the past then the rare/ upfront whatever you wanna call it nighters would be healthy.
-
Is the question who should help spread the news, flyers, get word out that an event is on etc or who should run it, decide the djs, music policy etc?
-
It is never live, always recorded as far as I am aware.
-
Be interesting to know for sure if it is "THE" Lou Johnson. I can understand the voice changing with age but I didn't recognise any of the 60s Lou in the track.
-
Who should it be? Doesn't sound like the Lou Johnson of Big Top etc. You can see in the edit history where it was credited.
-
It isn't as easy to enter incorrect info when the correct in of is there. It goes through a number of people and is checked. When no info there however it is easy to enter incorrect info.
-
It isn't the fault of discogs though as it is basically user input (in this case idiot input). You can edit and correct but it needs a majority vote to change.

Scans and sound files upon request. Sensible offers considered. Gradings: The records are often better than described, any questions just ask. I can supply better quality scans and sound files. Please note I do work away during the week so cannot post until the weekends. Don Wyatt - I’ve Got Myself To Blame - Garpax WDJ G £40 Excellent lesser known dancer. Graded as good as has some mark some slight noise on run in that you can’t hear over the music, plays nice and loud. One for the Dj looking for something different. Huraih Boynton - You Went Back On What YoU Said - Lanor Ex £75 Needs reviving Sebastian Williams & His Soul me - The One You Can’t Have - Cotillion Vg+ £15 Superb gritty dancer. BB hole, slight ringwear. Bobby Patterson - Right On Jody - Paula Vg+ £20 Fabulous dancer The Sounds Four - Keep On Loving’/A Memory Best Forgotten - Saintmo Ex - £25 Two good sides La-Jay Alexander - Say So - Black Gold VG+ £50 Nearer excellent. Bit of ring wear on flip side label, nothing serious. Great record from ’73. Lew Kirton - Come On With It - Marlin VG+ £15 Sublime 70s ballad, doesn’t get much better. Tiny Watkins - Run, Run, Run - Goodie Train - Ex £100 Great slice of crossover soul. Look s near mint, slight storage warp DNAP. Wille Gee Pure Soul - You Left me Standing - Authentic £75 Semi-known and toughest on the label. Worth a lot more IMO. Sylvia St Clair - Just Love Me - Brunswick Vg+ £110 Lovely tougher issue copy of this Stafford biggie. Luther Ingram - You Got To Give Love To Get Love - KoKo Vg+ £8 Some paper scuffs etc but plays nice, bit of ring wear on the label, see scan. Great dancer. Clarence Reed & Delmiros - Sooner Or Later - Selma Promo Vg+ £20 Fabulous! Flip has a stain or mark on the vinyl and plays with some noise over the mark which doesn’t spoil the play too much, would have been £40 if clean. Check the scan, sound file available if needed. Mar-Go & Soul Trio - There Is No One - Soul World WDJVg+ £70 Rarer plain label (in my experience). Great underrated 45. Has Dj and an x on the label. Bobbie Jean Bland - I’m Satisfied Just Loving You - Sack - Vg+ £50 Stafford dancer. “Do It” side has the number 19 in felt wol. The Soul City - I Shot For The Moon - Mercury Promo VG+ £60 The odd marks, some ring wear good underplayed 45 that should get more turntable action. Payment Paypal (gift preferred to avoid fees) to chalky@karlwhite.me.uk. Postage & Packing Over £15 it is sent Recorded. Over £40 it is sent Special Delivery. Not insured otherwise. UK Recorded = £2.50 Special delivery = £7.50 Europe Internationally Tracked & Signed For = £9.00 up to £50 Internationally Tracked & Signed For = £12 up to £250 Rest of World Internationally Tracked & Signed For = £10.00 up to £50 Internationally Tracked & Signed For = £12.50 up to £250

E.R.I.C. Living the Nightlife - New Soul Junction 45 Release
Chalky posted an article in News Archives
Press Release: E.R.I.C (Extra Rich In Class) “Nightlife/Backstage” SJ538 Release Date: Monday July 24th 2017 E.R.I.C (Extra Rich In Class) is the performing alter-ego of Mr Eric Oliver Harris a former New York banker, who turned his back on Wall Street and the world of commerce during 2008 to follow his dream of being a full time musician and boy! He hasn’t looked back since. It was E.R.I.C’s 2008 self penned, ”Drama” project which initially brought him to the attention of UK Indie Soul fans followed by his 2011 “Groove” project from which several of his tracks were licensed by the then UK based Soul Unsigned Label for a compilation album. E.R.I.C’s involvement with Soul Junction came about through the licensing of his 2012 outing “Backstage” a track that really tore the airwaves of internet radio up and as such was a must for inclusion on the Soul Junction “Extra Rich In Soul” (SJCD5007) compilation, the album title being a play on “Extra Rich In Class” to E.R.I.C’s delight. Back then, many people asked us to release “Backstage in a 45 format but for whatever reasons this never materialised. Moving forward E.R.I.C continued to perform unabated with his one man show performing primarily as a Luther Vandross Tribute act but always included his own material as part of the overall stage show. During the summer of 2016 E.R.I.C returned to the UK airwave’s with yet another vanity project “The Night Life” EP, a five track set that featured the excellent songs “life’s A Mess” and “Playboy To Playboy”. But it was the title track “Nightlife” that ignited the radio jocks interest and for that matter Soul Junction’s too. So a cunning plan was hatched to release for the first time on a vinyl format two of E.R.I.C’s most popular songs. So before you, you now have the soulfully haunting ballad “Backstage” backed with the joyously uplifting feel good dance track “Nightlife” which I defy even the most stoic amongst you not to start tapping your toes along too.
