  1. Both went to Dartford Grammar School and Godin introduced Jagger to R&B, apparently.
  2. don't dismiss the likes of discogs, best place to buy Lps really if that is what you are collecting. Recommendations are fine but take time to look around. Shops for instance have overheads and can be a little more expensive. Put up wants here, and various Facebook groups, usually someone will satisfy most wants.
  3. I'd not even looked
  4. If Stop Girl hadn't been mentioned, probably Wayne Gibson & Mike Post also, I doubt they would have featured in anyone's top ten. I am well aware of the history (as Pete mentions) of such tracks but that was in the mid 70s.As for AOTR being soul
  5. knowing this fickle scene probably go for less
  6. The vocalist sounds familiar but I don't know who it is, great track though.
  7. I doubt I could do any worse than the idiotcrats doing the job. I think tounknow what I mean though
  8. It says "Northern Soul - Ten Of The Best" that is stretching it a little don't you think, certainly some of the choices.
  9. I think we'll find fault in anything written by an "outsider"
  10. Gene Woodbury is getting almost twice what it has been selling for. Edward Hamilton is just plain barmy for something that isn't even rare. Some desperate people out there it would seem.
  11. Whilst I agree any top ten is subjective, I said as much on the guardian page, I doubt very much you will hear Wayne Gibson at many venues, it certainly wouldn't be a top ten choice for too many, the same for 7 Dwarfs except Zed1 Fascinations, top ten, really? I doubt those three would make the top 500? two or three others I doubt would make a top ten although they might in a some peoples choices. I can think of a couple of 100 that would make better choices.
  12. There's stacks of "class violations" already on discogs, usually you don't spot it until you read the description/seller info
  13. Listen everyweek, well download to listen to whilst driving. Always something I don't know or forgotten about. Great show.
  14. 10 years. He does Pick Of The Pops and Pop Madter for Ken Bruce.
  15. I would imagine it is all to do with the resurgent interest in music and vinyl and the record companies taking a more active role in bootlegs. They have probably had some sort of warning from the authorities about them facilitating crime. All are still viewable via their database as they are primarily or were a reference site.
  16. Don't think he was a regular was he? The show used someone different every week mid to late 80s. Brian Matthew took over in 1990 from Simon Dee who'd been presenting for a year or so? Keith Fordyce was the original present, 1983-85.
  17. He must have a liking for soul as quite a bit is programmed into the shows he produces, even going back to SOTS with Brian Matthew. I think he is just a lover of music though rather than anyone one genre.
  18. Is the channel on sky?
  19. Load of bollox isn't it. I mean by actually saying suchh a thing they are getting involved in any politics.
  20. Brilliant show this week. Stuart Raith and his wonderful wife Penni joined Dean and Jez for a 3 hour musical history.
