  1. Timmion the best
  2. Different Tempos, those in your document are the West Coast group (Countdown). The one who is the subject of this topic is from Detroit.
  3. Really sad news. But at least he had the satisfaction that what he did has left a lasting impression and one of the scene's most iconic records, some say the best. R.I.P. Fisher.
  4. The mono one is West Coast, Monarch press.
  5. Remember the night well, Dave was so nervous he was shaking. I don’t know why he did great.
  6. @Andy Rix when he appeared at Grumpy Soul, outstanding music.
  7. Another great set mate. No one to touch him really. Andy Dyson played a fabulous couple of sets at Boomerang couple of years ago too.
  8. Its practically impossible to do a set of unknowns now but BITD it was the norm? As much as I love the oldies, the rare ones etc, I get quickly bored when they are trotted out one after the other. I much prefer a set of imaginative forgotten or lesser played stuff, always have done But speaking of rarities, Butch’s recent 70s, crossover etc set at Steve Plumb’s night was another memorable night. Two hours of cover ups, acetates and rarities, he didn’t eben delve into the 60s that he is noted for.
  9. I was wondering if someone would actually credit a Dj who discovered some records rather than credit oldies Djs playing other peoples records. Bit of a sorry state when oldies are the most memorable sets. Have to agree with Butch, always was and still is an air of anticipation waiting for him to get behind the decks. His mid 80s sets like you said blew you away. His sets at the first Lifeline, 2004, was pure soul heaven.
  10. He can sing the phone book for all I care, I’ll be there to show sime respect and appreciation to one who has done so much for the music I love.
  11. I've said it. before UK the worst, US the best, EU in between. I've seen items described as minters with paper scuffs and worst. I've seen some sold as minters despite the seller Djing with it for years If it has been played just once it is no longer mint. But as with everything you get good and bad everywhere.
  12. Its on youtube and has been for donkeys
  13. Mick H was first to play it in tne UK covered up as Carla Thomas. Few collectirs knew who it was. Very rare, copies in collections but £10k???
  14. They were quality control/file copies by the looks of it. The demos for radio station distribution would have come next once the ok was given, which never was. The manager at ARP says only 6 done, as Andy says there is nothing to counter this argument, just speculation. I'm more inclined to listen to what Ron Murphy and the ARP manager says than wikipedia.
  15. £15 tops for a minter set sale, of course there are cheaper ones out there for less.
  16. There is an interview with the/a manager of ARP who explained it all. The 6 were demos, which if go ahead given more would have been done and then the issues to follow but we know the outcome there.
  17. good things come to those who wait, nice one
  18. all those could be possibly replicated, down to the first detail. You'd have to forensically examine the vinyl, paper and inks etc.
  19. must be reight then
  20. There was 6 pressed, two for ARP archives, two for Motown, two for Jobette. Dunno who started the 250 copies pressed rumour but it isn't true.
  21. It never left, the guy who bought it is from Hull or out that way, bought it for his wife/partner who doesn't like Norther but liked that apparently. I was told they have since split.
  22. Did you win the one on ebay at $1000 or so Michael? https://www.buckeyebeat.com/shademen.html
  23. Richard Searling was the special guest on Dean's show this week. Catch up on mixcloud or just listen again.....
  24. I'm sure there was a private sale a few years ago around £7k The way some sales have been of late who knows
