  1. I never noticed, it was demo'ed twice
  2. If she thinks others are more worthy she can always begin the process to get them honoured.
  3. Most places Butch has played. Sounds great out loud.
  4. 2 posts from you and both on the topic about Richard, is that all you joined for to shit stir? Does it matter if others warrant recognition? There aren't many who have been doing it as long as Richard and done so much to promote the scene and the music as well through his shows, record labels and other work. It is as I told Richard, good that the music has got some much needed recognition as well.
  5. There is another on Columbia, "Live Fast Die Young". Only on a demo though I believe. Both 45s written by Eric.
  6. Is the article the one I posted above Brian?
  7. Few vultures no doubt, £200 they have sold for so far. I buy them for the love of the music. A lot of them have gone abroad by all accounts.
  8. It sold out within hours of the announcement yesterday
  9. The top two the text/font differs. The top also has the label number The bottom one is the same as the middle one I think but can’t compare properly as its a flip. Looks like a faded label.
  10. This topic made me go and dig the cd out only to find I didn’t have it. I ordered one for about £7. Not read the notes yet but it is an excellent compilation of Carol’s work.
  11. Nice one! Will have a listen soon as
  12. Special reissue by who? A boot until proved otherwise for me.
  13. Why would you rather watch Jeremy Kyle? Perhaps you prefer the vulnerable being manipulated, humiliated and exploited?
  14. Does it matter if she was there or not? Like you say you could have ten directors who were there making a film and nine would be wrong in the eyes of the other going by what you say. It is nigh on impossible to make a film depicting how it actually was today. She did a fantastic job getting the look right but it was never meant to represent any one specific year but simply an era wasn’t it? She also had some extremely in the know consultants, movers and shakers at the time and dancers of the time, from which by all accounts she took her lead. Obviously a bit of artistic licence was going to happen as it does on any movie. It is all to easy to sit and nit pick on a forum, we didn’t go through what they did to finance it, go to the extraordinary lengths to get it pretty much right and at least give the viewer an idea what it was like, many have said she managed by and large to do that. It was never going to satisfy some and I don’t think it set out to satisfy everyone, it is at the end of the day entertainment.
  15. Mrs Northern Soul, you obviously don’t know Elaine. She has never made such a claim nor have I heard anyone proclaim that she is such. As fir making a bit of money, if she did, good for her. You obviously aren’t aware of the sacrifices Elaine and Marco made to finance the film. As for your last sentence, that is precisely what it was about for many wasn’t it? To say most didn’t go out and take whatever chemical enhancement they could get their hands on would be telling a few porkies. You can still do that and love the music, many did and some still do.
  16. Dean Anderson & Gez are joined by South Yorkshire connoisseurs of Soul Brian and David Pinches for three hours of quality soul music and chat.
  17. even though something was in a soul pack there might be very few copies. John A said on numerous occasions it was what he had to hand to clear space or two raise funds, slow sellers or records not en vogue. So he might have a handfiul of a title, 20 or so copies, that went in packs and subsequently became en vogue and not really turned up. So what was once a soul pack item isn't necessarily common. Common records fetching more than they should...Ringleaders, Soul Majestics, Ruby Andrews, Frank Beverley.....
  18. Its another guy who was at school with him and sang with him and said he was black He lived 6 blocks from PJdoowop according to one comment.
  19. I always play Lps nowadays the odd time I get behind the decks.
  20. According to the youtube comments, the guy that went to school with Bobby Kline, sang with his brother and Bobby, says he was african american. That seems to be the most credible of the comments, there’s that word again
  21. Been plenty of copies of the 45 over the years but it is a keeper for those who have it or get it. Its no rarer than the Lp really as the 45 came with the Lp. The Lp though is picking up demand as Djs realise it isn’t all ablut 45s and you can play Lps.
  22. Also if you read the comments he is both black and white according to people who knew Bobby. Maybe we have two Bobby Kline's?
  23. I was referring to the wiki page which casts him as a member.
  24. I’ve done the google mate, it tells us nothing practically. Wiki is notorious for false info too. I reckon they have taken him as a member because of his credit on the disc rather than any credible source.
