  1. The label carries the name of a well known bootlegger. The label directors were implicated and sentenced on the recent bootlegging case. Surely that would raise doubts straight away. Just because the label claims a license was taken is as I said often meaningless. The very presence is meant to give a/the release some authenticity when in reality they are probably far from it, certainly the US material. I mean who is going to check up?
  2. Frank Bryant, the last remaining Just Brother performing Sliced Tomatoes at Cleethorpes 9th June 2018 The volume is a little low, I was again stood own front of the bank of speakers, no monitor on stage either and I need an external mic for the camera.
  3. Never seen a copy of this on the shade it is, all the others I’ve seen are the dark blue. Can’t make any decision though based on a photograph.
  4. They did do/sell some some things which were lawful
  5. https://companycheck.co.uk/company/11089439/SOULFUL-RECORDS-LTD/companies-house-data Both those names sentenced if memory serves in the bootlegging case
  6. The fact it says "licensed from" means bugger all. And I'm sure one of the dodgy bunch operated out of Suffolk (Ipswich). How accessible is Henry Stone's music since he passed away?
  7. Burnett a name in the news not so long for the wrong reasons
  8. No Andy just refers to the plant that pressed the record.
  9. There are at least two gold copies of the Professionals. Robin Salter found one in I believe Ohio of all places. Think Tim Ashibende may have found the other.
  10. what a pointless topic on another note isn't this the second copy John has auctioned?
  11. It was Guy. The Soul Full Two (Fi Yi Dance) was played a few years before.
  12. Dean Anderson is joined on the Sound Of Soul™ on Independence Day by the dynamic duo Brian Goucher and Andrew Dyson. Two hours of pure quality soul right across the soul spectrum plus the usual banter and comic interludes from Mr D.
  13. I have the original Maxx Lp. Massive mid 80s too.
  14. Joining Dean Anderson and Gez on the Sound Of Soul ™ is the dynamic duo from Diggin' Deep Records Sean Hampsey and his very good long time mate Kev Briscoe. Both have a wealth of knowledge all things SOUL and bring you two hours of pure quality.
  15. Dean's interview with Randy and Bertram Brown.
  16. I see the LP is getting a rerelease too, I'll wait for that.
  17. I suppose this is the difference between business men and music lovers.
  18. Capitol is owned by Universal so maybe they lost tapes as well. Columbia owned by Sony.
  19. What is also worrying is that just three companies hold 70% of the market, no wonder the music today is shite. They seem proud that they have copies. They don't seem to realise the history they have been negligent with and lost forever.
  20. Dean Anderson's Sound Of Soul Radio Show goes global! After starring at The Blackpool Soul Festival Randy Brown with his brother Bertram join Dean for the first hour of the show giving us some fascinating insights into his life and career. Then all the way from Down Under is Frank Driscoll for two hours of some great quality soul spanning the genres. The small studio was bursting with Andy Tats Taylor, Arthur Fenn and Maria Orlovic crammed in somehow. A show not to be missed.
  21. Charles Brandy? I Can’t Get Enough? Devotions Do Do De Dop or something like that? All My Life, Ringleaders?
  22. Legit
  23. 600 or so, as high as 800 in the past. It is a pretty tough record, certainly tougher than 300. If a prominent Dj got behind it then it would probably be four figures.
  24. Issues are no more than £40 IMO, common record. Demo is harder but would have thought £75, ton tops.
