  1. He could be Ollie Hoskins of Ollie and the Nightingale’s who also recorded for Pepper
  2. As have most and many do not count 45s released years after for the scene. To many they are still LP only tracks. If I was running a venue I would want the Lp on the turntable rather than an expansion release.
  3. Isn't it a more recent release though, i.e. years after the Lp?
  4. I doubt there are many left unreleased? The whole point of releasing them is for copyright protection otherwise they fall into the public domain....I think.
  5. Membership cards? They were in use through to the 90s at least. You couldn’t get in without one. Think the police cancelled membership, well made them start again late 80s if memory serves?
  6. I’ve ‘68 Pt 1 & 2 on the player for this week.
  7. They have been coming out for a few years now. Started with 1962. Probably released before they are out of copyright.
  8. You couldn't scan me that could you Ian, nice and flat. PDF or 300 Dpi minimum?. Thanks Chalky
  9. Dean Anderson is once again joined on The Sound Of Soul ™ by Malayka Erpen for more quality across the board soul music from all the genres, Malayka's life in 10 records and an hour of European only releases.
  10. Not sure about Lp only without checking but Lou Courtney "I'm In Need Of Love" on Epic, fantastic Lp. All of the tracks! Natural Four Lps have some excellent Lp only tracks too. Gingi James one Brunswick I'm sure has one or two, Voices of East Harlem Lps as well has some Lp only gems. There is loads and one reason why Lps are all I collect these days, much more fun.
  11. Congratulations Ady and everyone concerned. Some achievement which I doubt will ever be matched and rightly so. Very few clubs have done for the scene what the 100 Club has done and most never will.
  12. I though it was 80s or 90s
  13. Bit sugary (no pun intended) pop, MOR. When was it made?
  14. First time I met Sean he was being Sean, somewhat difficult. As soon as he found out I knew Pete Lawson we were best mates we, well Sean talked about him for two hours, did me fcukin head in last time I saw him at 100 he went through my sales, the box ended up a right mess everyone else shut their boxes when they saw him going though mine. He had two ha’pennies to rub together but he ask me “how much?” for everyone Top lad though and one you’d want at yer side when the sh*t hit the fan
  15. Phonetics on Trudel.
  16. Just to clarify Leonard Smith isn’t Len Jewel Smith but one of the same name from NYC.
  17. Think I went to the lecture they did at Salford Uni. Will have a look out for the book.
  18. Doubt very much they are legit, certainly done to exploit the scene.
  19. There may well be two gold presses, I didn't see one before the initial lot. There is a green boot, all in a previous topic.
  20. The Gold ones done 1999/2000 by someone with access to the plates. May have been Brooklyn Born, he was selling a l lot of them when the first appeared. Whoever did them apparently or allegedly didn’t own the rights nor have the the rights to press them. Like Gareth says there is no way The Four Voices is a 1977 recording.
  21. This is the video with the comments, a comment from a friend of her son as well....
  22. If you found it on the internet then it is already out there so why not just post?Richard Searling I think gave details about her a wee while ago, think he was in touch with her.
  23. Great article Mark and to all involved. The article is testament to the legend that the 100 Club is and its place on the scene. It sums up the 100 Club perfectly, basement dimly lit, hot and sweaty, although there is air conditioning now, the perfect “Northern Soul” venue really. I don’t see any other club getting near what the 100 Club has done on a consistent basis. Had some magical nights down those stairs, just wish I had more time in my life these days to enjoy some more Well done Ady and to all who have played their part in making the 100 Club so special.
  24. Its on youtube Robb
