  1. That was my understanding, four cut two released, two lost in the vaults.
  2. There was apparently two other tracks cut in the studio but I am unaware of any other 45. Tim Ashibende might know more as he met her. @colouredman
  3. Dean is joined in the studio once more by Kev Roberts for two hours of quality northern, modern and bit of that funky stuff. Some great stories and chat as well.
  4. Thats the difference, dad taking lad......in our day we’d have sneaked off
  5. Unfortunately I can’t make it mate. Fantastic venue and should be a regualr venue on the scene for niters once more
  6. I have to agree there are anoraks in all genres. Me dad went all over to see Country acts. He didn't live and breathe it though.
  7. You lads love of music is great, I wish all kids could dig some kind of scene, life would be much better. But, we lived, breathed and in some cases died for the scene, all that mattered was the next night out, all for the sheer love of it. Do your lads go all over the country in pursuit of the music, not through work to get paid but but for fun, for the buzz we got out of it, not just a chemical one either? That’s the difference with us. All my waking hours were devoted to the music, to the scene, certainly for many years before the recovery time after a nighter became a problem. I still devote most of my spare time to it even now all these years later. I never felt for my divvy mates though, Imwas glad they stayed where they were, they just wouldn’t get it although the divs have some what taken over.
  8. The Nat Kendrick & The Swans were all male from what I can see, The Twans female obviously. Two of the Swan 45 sides are instrumental with just the odd male interjection. Haven’t bothered listening to any others. How did we get on to the Twans?
  9. They aren’t the same group. It’s like saying the Rolling Stones were once the Faces.
  10. But both have an “s” and are therefore plural even if spelt wrong.
  11. Terribly sad news R.I.P. Leola and thank you for the music. Some photos from Cleggy of the Apollas. https://flic.kr/s/aHsiRXSjvA
  12. You will be lucky to get the original Kent release for £25/£30. But it looks like you ate too late anyway.
  13. There is no link yet for the black vinyl but they say it will be coming. I don’t quite get the hype or fascination behind some of these European so called soul acts. This as with others appears to be another release for me that seems to be more about the rarity and the colour than the quality. Yeah its not a bad Lp, well the two tracks I’ve heard but you only have to look who is behind the production and wonder who it is aimed at. I’d sooner spend that kinda money on a decent 60s or 70s Lp, there is at the end of the day no comparison.
  14. Yarmouth Northern Soul Weekender March 1991. Lorraine Chandler, Eddie Parker, Pat Lewis, Ray Pollard, Garland Green Many thanks to Mark Wilson for a copy of the video.
  15. Various all-nighter footage of 100 Club. Yarmouth, Shotts, Bradford etc. Pretty poor footage but you get some idea.
  16. Only the yellow vinyl is limited, according to band camp a regular black vinyl as well.....
  17. Dean Anderson and Gez are joined on The Sound Of Soul ™ by the Big Daddy of Big Man Records and the UK branch of Secret Stash Records Mark Bicknell for two hours of chat and music including gems from the vaults of brothers George and Ernie Leaner and their labels One-derful, Midas, M-Pac Toddlin Town, Mar-V-Lus & Halo. Not to be missed!
  18. The new Durand Jones Lp is quality as is the new Lee Fields Lp.

  20. Cannonball not Colemine.
  21. People will revive them purely cause it is a tough record to find and cost a few bob.
