  1. What is also worrying is that just three companies hold 70% of the market, no wonder the music today is shite. They seem proud that they have copies. They don't seem to realise the history they have been negligent with and lost forever.
  2. Dean Anderson's Sound Of Soul Radio Show goes global! After starring at The Blackpool Soul Festival Randy Brown with his brother Bertram join Dean for the first hour of the show giving us some fascinating insights into his life and career. Then all the way from Down Under is Frank Driscoll for two hours of some great quality soul spanning the genres. The small studio was bursting with Andy Tats Taylor, Arthur Fenn and Maria Orlovic crammed in somehow. A show not to be missed.
  3. Charles Brandy? I Can’t Get Enough? Devotions Do Do De Dop or something like that? All My Life, Ringleaders?
  4. Legit
  5. 600 or so, as high as 800 in the past. It is a pretty tough record, certainly tougher than 300. If a prominent Dj got behind it then it would probably be four figures.
  6. Issues are no more than £40 IMO, common record. Demo is harder but would have thought £75, ton tops.
  7. I don't think it is the same as the "Something's Bad" group. The lead for that group was Sonny Threatt. There are several by the name Nomads.
  8. Ian "Frank" Dewhirst, legend of the Pier, The Central, Croatia and many other venues makes a welcome return to the Sound Of Soul for two hours of quality music and chat with Dean Anderson and Gez.
  9. There was about 50 done with the sleeve work and a few years after, so a boot of a boot if yer like
  10. she's real mate
  11. Having been involved to some degree in nominating and getting someone an award from the queen (MBE for someone in football), I can assure you it is a quite lengthy process, takes about 18 months after submitting the nomination. The criteria is also quite strict, they don't give these awards to anyone and certainly not to someone who has played a few records down the dog and duck or even an all-nighter for a few years. I love to see Soul Sister Jane's nomination for an award like this and the reason why? I cannot think of anyone tbh who has been so prominent and done so much for the music for nearly 50 years? Take the rose tinted glasses off mind, being a personal favourite will not get them an award, they need to have given service to something for quite sometime. from the form....
  12. I’d not heard of any other unreleased just the session with Balk/Browner.
  13. I never noticed, it was demo'ed twice
  14. If she thinks others are more worthy she can always begin the process to get them honoured.
  15. Most places Butch has played. Sounds great out loud.
  16. 2 posts from you and both on the topic about Richard, is that all you joined for to shit stir? Does it matter if others warrant recognition? There aren't many who have been doing it as long as Richard and done so much to promote the scene and the music as well through his shows, record labels and other work. It is as I told Richard, good that the music has got some much needed recognition as well.
  17. There is another on Columbia, "Live Fast Die Young". Only on a demo though I believe. Both 45s written by Eric.
  18. Is the article the one I posted above Brian?
  19. Few vultures no doubt, £200 they have sold for so far. I buy them for the love of the music. A lot of them have gone abroad by all accounts.
  20. It sold out within hours of the announcement yesterday
  21. The top two the text/font differs. The top also has the label number The bottom one is the same as the middle one I think but can’t compare properly as its a flip. Looks like a faded label.
  22. This topic made me go and dig the cd out only to find I didn’t have it. I ordered one for about £7. Not read the notes yet but it is an excellent compilation of Carol’s work.
  23. Nice one! Will have a listen soon as
