New release - Hit and Run 45 - The Delreys
Chalky commented on Dewsburyborn's article in News Archives
I think it is a fab release and the flip is simply superb. Trouble with the original, for a record that isn't really rare it has been taken away from the pockets of most by people paying daft prices, too many Djs wanting it. This is one I have bought, I have all the releases on the label, not that I will play it out mind. -

Kent always to my knowledge done test presses. A mate had the early Anniversary ones on test press and I’ve seen these the before for other releases. Kent/ace promos were as far as I know the standard issue. @Ady Croasdell will tell you more. -
The record has been played pretty much constantly throughout my time and its massive again these days.
-
The promo is a boot though, well not an original. Only ever released with the Lp on the blue/green label.

Makes you wonder what its been doing in Chicago for 20 days. I know times are not normal but freight is still moving and 20 days does seem excessive. Like you say hopefully they will be with us soon. -

No one forces you to buy. £12 (not £15) is more than reasonable in todays market when compared with other labels. -
If my missus didn’t like this she’d have to go

Last two weekends I have been converting old tapes we swapped BITD, I've added quite a few to my Mixcloud page, Driveller's Delights, Brian Goucher tapes and others. Some interesting listening.

Dean Anderson is joined on the Sound of Soul ™ for another My Life in 10 lockdown special by Julia Kitchener and Richard Searling. Some fabulous choices from both guests.

I doubt Richard holds that view today, maybe back then as much of the Motown released then was pop/mor, chart based rather than a lot of the soulful stuff that has turned up since from the vaults

Here is this weeks show, should be all caught up now. Three regular listeners Penni Raith, Rowena Morgan and last but not least Diana Taylor give Dean their "Life In Ten Records". If anyone wishes to join in with their Life In Ten then below are the questions, just PM me you answers and I will forward them to Dean. MY LIFE IN TEN 1. First Soul Song You Ever Heard. 2. First Rare Northern Soul Song You Remember? 3. First big all-nighter sound? 4. Record you associate with a specific venue? 5. Song you associate with someone special? 6. Song you hate? 7. The one you could never afford? 8. It’s naff but you like it? 9. Song you can’t believe is not bigger? 10. Song for your funeral?

Just this weeks show to upload, no live guests but regular listeners are giving “Their life in ten records”. I will post the questions a bit later if anyone fancies sharing theirs. Thanks for listening.

It hasn’t no. I will post the links later today when I upload this weeks show. No live guests I’m afraid, listeners “My Life In Ten Records”

Some more lockdown listening for you if you are struggling. I've been converting some tape swaps from BITD and are now on my mixcloud page, more being added as I get time. All the Stafford Story podcasts on there as well as dozens of 'Live" venue recordings and other good stuff.

Educated guess Polo being first but I would imagine there was very little time between either regardless which came first. Anyone know the run out details of the Hot Line release?

Depends how you look at it, Omega are creaming it in from both sides, up to 54.6% in commission from selling and buying fees depending how it is bought how I see it. That is some mark up. -

Think there is a bit if a lag everywhere. I had one from Sweden last week which took about 10 days. Hardly buying anything at the minute mind. -

I ordered an Lp on Monday and it is moving through the UPS system, now at Chicago airport UPS facility. Hopefully it will get out of the country -
Just a reminder that whilst you are in lockdown and if you want something to listen to then there are 66 podcasts and much more over on my web site https://www.soulunderground.co.uk DJ by DJ covering the 80s Stafford era.
