  1. It was issued for commercial gain for the very first time on the usual pink label imprint. The fact they were all sold to the UK is irrelevant, they are not reissues.
  2. Doesn’t really affect you does it? I didn’t go to the last one but done the previous ones with no issues. Didn’t wear a mask but I sanitised often.
  3. I think or I heard he was asked to press the Carstairs not a case of him rebuilding after the failure of Chess/GRT, by John Anderson maybe? The pink ones are issues, not reissues, done for commercial reasons just like any other release. It never had a commercial release so cannot be a reissue.
  4. The Redd Coach distribution deal with Chess records ended so with no distribution for the Carstairs it would be pointless pressing it. The issues were done to order at a later date for the UK scene, not the US market.
  5. Nothing intriguing, they were recorded/ mastered at different times. “I’ll tell the world” was previously released as an instrumental b side on a sunlovers 45. MBCFOONW exists I believe on a one sided 45, Joey obviously had no flip for it or pressed as an early promo to get it on the radio stations and then added the other side later. Not the only time he has pressed a single sided 45.
  6. It had no chart success, it was never issued for sale in the USA.
  7. Levine did hear it in the States but couldn’t get the radio station to part with it. He got his copy from Soul Bowl. Its all documented if people care to do a bit of research.
  8. The x signifies the b side
  9. Ted Taylor 790 quid jeez. some fools have been parted from their money again tonight…..
  10. That was set in stone at the time of Joey being asked, he didn’t know where he was. Of course that could have changed but it is extremely difficult tracing someone who is in the care or hospital facilities, they will not divulge any information due to data laws. One of the Servicemen was in a care home, I was in touch with him, but once he was moved they wouldn’t tell me anything nor Larry from the group.
  11. From the Inspirations Story which can be found on this site put together with the help of Kev Roberts…… “As for Johnny Hendley, his whereabouts are unknown although Joey is actively attempting to locate him. It was said at one time he was in a bad way in hospital, possibly a mental institution…hopefully this wasn’t the case and he can be found fit and well.”
  12. Suspenders? Braces you mean? It is Bub as said and it is my photo, nice of him not to ask permission
  13. Ir is extremely rare and for something like Huriah Boynton to fetch nearly as much just shows how fcuked up the collecting scene is. It is. As said it is a west Coast record too not Detroit. You only have to look at they other releases which bear the same credits or similar & even have an address. PS Just seen the follow up posts with the label scans
  14. 1997 Cleggy
  15. They have all been pretty good what I have attended in Chesterfield, people respectful of others etc.
  16. They are held outside, usually markets. Suppose you have to use some common and socially distance best you can, wear a mask it you wish and sanitise…..if it bothers someone, stop in
  17. Its no longer about the music for many, its trophy collecting and ego massaging I don’t think a blue issue is worth £3k but them again I’m no fool who is easily parted from his money.
  18. I was gob smacked when it reached 1500 not so long ago. These prices are just sheer lunacy and no amount of worldwide market bollox can convince me otherwise.
  19. I cannot remember Mike, it may be under a different title but was about the closure of the scenes venues late 70s early 80s
  20. There was a topic about the closure of The Mecca I started but I can’t find it. Any MODs help?
  21. Its the first time one has sat still long enough and no bloody decent lens
  22. Only had a landscape lens on the camera today so had to take this with the phone, my first Dipper sighting this year.
  23. Brilliant gesture from Bob's family. They could quite easily have sold this and made a few bob (no pun intended). A collection that is history will now be preserved.
  24. Last nights show, 22nd April
  25. I’ve looked high and low, no where in this country anymore.
