  1. I'm sure it will be well packed and shipped quickly, the idea of the smiley thing was to indicate the line about the envelope was light hearted. I just object to paying $11.45 when postage including a good mailer cannot cost more than $8. The ebay calculator for postage works out postage on the basis of postage plus sellers "handling" charge, I've asked why postage is double but haven't had a reply. I've paid as it still works out reasonably cheap. Maybe I'm just a tight Yorkshireman , is there any other type
  2. As Pete said, this guy has always been a tw*t, ages ago (pre-ebay) I bought a couple of records off him which were allegedly mint- and when they arrived they were absolutely knackered. Never got my money back and he really didn't really give a sh*t. Later, I won a record off eBay from him but didn't realise until afterwards, when I found out the seller was him I told him I wasn't going to pay as he had robbed me previously, never heard back. Can't remember what his ebay ID is but beware this seller!
  3. What about the charges from those in the US? I'm a bit tired of paying 8 or 9 dollars for postage just to see it turn up with $5.05 on the package. I've just "won" this item https://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...AMEWN%3AIT&rd=1 and the guy charges $11.35 for standard airmail postage, I either pay and get the record or don't pay and get no record plus neg feedback ... and it will probably turn up in an envelope
  4. At Prestatyn 3 years ago (maybe 4?) I set up a small stall, in a fairly empty record room, with a couple of boxes of records, some CD's and some books. All these were essentially the stock from my online store. I tried to find out who to pay for the tiny table I had but no one seemed interested. A couple of other people put record boxes on tables next to mine and we eventually swelled the record dealing room by a masssive 4 tables. Me and Jo wallace happily plied our wares (Oooh-err!) for the weekend. On the Sunday some of the more miserable stall holders (Yes I know most of them are miserable) complained that I and the others hadn't paid and some jobsworth from Pontins came round and told us we had to pay 50 each. I paid up reasonably happily as I'd taken 2000 that weekend (and could claim the VAT back on the 50 charge) but a few were not at all happy. The thing that rankled was that the Pontins guy really enjoyed charging people the same for a 4 foot square table as they did for the acres some dealers had, he grinned about it all the time. I think the dealers that were pissed off were the ones that were charging too much and thus not selling enough Any large dealer is not going to be bothered at paying a ton for a weekend's stall as they are going to take in excess of 10000, it's the smaller guys who are put off. Perhaps charging for the space actually taken up could be thought about? By the way that boxing avatar of Jtrouble's is the funniest thing I've seen for a while. Excellent timing and good footwork! Cheers Paul
  5. I got mine for 7 euros off a dutch record site Then someone nicked it at These Old Shoes first time I played it out  I still occassionally look through my record bag just in case I was mistaken and it actually is in there.
  6. On ebay at reasonable prices, some finishing tis weekend. https://search.ebay.co.uk/_W0QQsassZ784tpQQhtZ-1 Cheers Paul

  10. In a similar vein, is it just me or has anyone noticed the ruining of records by a man with a twangy guitar? You buy something blind; put it on the decks; great intro, fantastic vocal then in comes the man with the twangy guitar ! First example that comes to mind is "Two Sided Thing - Johnny Mae Mathews" https://www.funk45.com/rm/mathews,_johnny_m...sided_thing.ram Maybe it is just me? Are they all the same guy? Cheers Paul
  11. I remember picking up 2 for 3 quid each off some disco site, kept one and sold the other for 25 thinking what a good deal. I believe it is the 12 inch demo that has the "best" version, is that correct? Think it is different from the 7 inch piccy cover release. If the 7 is going for a ton I'll keep the 12 an flog the 7 on Cheers Paul
  12. Many thanks for the info, added to my wants list
  13. Don't you just hate it when a record turns up and it isn't the one you thought it was? Just bought Nippy Hawkins & The Niptones - Its Gonna Be Too Late - Lorraine 1001 off ebay after listening to the track on soulclub.org. It turned up this morning, in almost mint condition too, so I rush to play it and realised it's not the tune on soulclub Can someone please tell me what this track is please? also price and availability? https://www.soulclub.org/stream/Nippy_Hawki...Be_Too_Late.ram Thanks Paul PS For Sale: Nippy Hawkins & The Niptones - Its Gonna Be Too Late - Lorraine 1001 - any reasonable offer
  14. Phew! I was beginning to wonder as the last list I put out I didn't sell a single record either! Strange thing was, when I put a lot of them on Ebay starting at 4.99 most sold and quite a few for more than I had originally listed them at. Cheers Paul
  15. Not a sniff on these Are my prices wrong? Are the records crap? Has everyone got them all? Are they unknown? etc etc Can do sound files and will consider trades or offers. Grateful for any comments before they go on eBay on Monday Cheers Paul

  21. Yorkshire is absolutely brilliant, but don't get out much due to weekends being the busiest time for me. Gave up me season ticket on moving north I'm afraid. However watched the playoff final and very pleased at the outcome this year. With so many shite teams in the premiership we should stay up if only by the skin of our teeth. Not intending to have a piercing at my age thank you Cheers Paul

  23. Sorry bit late on this one, but having read the stuff below, it is mostly true (if occasionally exagerrated). Dan ran the Soul Cafe just off Oxford street in London, really nice guy. He shared our caravan at Cleethorpes a couple of times and I still have his sun glasses in my car. Not relevant, but true. I trust he has offended "MissM" in some way but perhaps she could solve a puzzle for me? Dan always claimed that he had a ring piercing in his bell end, he said it improved his technique, is this true Miss M? Cheers Paul
  24. Nice tune but seems more of a collectors thing rather than a dance floor thing. Cheers Paul
