  1. Just started to put this stuff up on ebay: https://search.ebay.co.uk/_W0QQsassZ784tpQQhtZ-1 thanks Paul
  2. Sons of Robin Stone - Got To Get You Back - ATCO My demo arrived the other day with Love Is Just Around The Corner on both sides, no wonder it was 5 dollars  In a nice ABC company sleeve though Someone has mentioned the Ronnie McNeir on Tortoise which I also have a demo of
  3. No, I'm sure you can , each to their own. Actually, thinking about it, maybe you couldn't, well not all of it, cos you would have to run from behind the decks, dance, then get back before it finishes. Oh dear, now it looks like I mean no one else would play it, and that's not what I meant at all. No offence meant, it was just a general comment as there was a copy on ebay with a soundfile but I couldn't find it. I wouldn't dance to it however and not just cos I'm old. Cheers Paul
  4. Saw one of these on eBay recently, here it is: https://cgi.ebay.com/JESSIE-MAE-dont-freeze...1QQcmdZViewItem I thought there was a sound file actually, but there doesn't seem to be. Funny cos I thought I'd heard it and had thought that you couldn't dance to that Anyway, seems to have it's admirers, not me though and I do like some R&B An R&B sound to go big? Try these: Rosco Gordon - You Got My Bait - Jomada roscog.mp3 Anna King - Mama's Got A Bag of Her Own - End (if it isn't big already) annak.mp3 Jackie Shane - Comin Down - Sue (Bit of a dodgy start and maybe not really R&B either) jackies.mp3 Cheers Paul
  5. I think it is exactly that! A "name" DJ starts playing something and all of a sudden everyone "has" to have one. An example: Dave Rimmer was looking through my sales box a few years ago and spotted The Casualeers - Dance, Dance, Dance (on demo) which I had at 20. It had been there for about a year at 20. Dave says "always wanted a copy of that and never picked one up, think I'll play it next time out" That's nice I thought, always like to see someone pick up a record they really like. 6 months later they are changing hands at 200 dollars on eBay  Same thing with Brown Sugar - The Game is Over, I heard Shifty play this and told Jo Wallace I thought it was pants. She who is wiser than me tells me that I should pick up a couple of copies if I see them, so I do (2 issues & a demo for 6 dollars each) and hey presto it goes massive about 6 months later after a few other DJ's start playing it. Still got the demo but sold the issues for about 40 thinking I had done well, they turn up on lists now at up to 125 (How Much!?! as they say round here). Its grown on me but I still don't really like it that much. It's probably rarer than Ace Spectrum but not really that rare, and this seems to be a common theme, most of these records that go massive for a short time are not very rare at all - e.g. Betty Swann - Kiss My Ar** Goodbye. I sold someone a copy of that for 120 after they contacted me and asked for one, they told me that dealers had told them they wouldn't get a copy for less than 200 quid , can you shift them for more than 40 these days? I've had 4 without really trying. Bobby Day? On eBay every week, I have no idea what the current over priced big tunes are as I haven't been out for 3 years due to running my Pub, but I'm sure there are some similar examples. I wish someone would start pushing The Temptations - Loneliness Made Me Realise (It's You That I Need), its a great tune but I have about 8 of them, so that's my tip https://www.soulclub.org/stream/The_Temptat...That_I_Need.ram Cheers Paul
  6. Got six copies of Ace Spectrum in San Francisco for a dollar each, does that count? Got an Yvonne Baker demo for 50 dollars on the same trip about 4 years ago. Cheers Paul
  7. Was this on one of the These Old Shoes CD's? I still have the master files somewhere if it was and you need another. Don't hold your breath though Cheers Paul

  10. Keith, will copies of this ever dry up? (No offence meant, just found it funny) Cheers Paul
  11. LOVED the Johnny Barnes fantastic track, never heard it before. Are there any web sites where you can listen to Popcorn and get details of the tunes? Cheers Paul
  12. Take a look at Jazz collectors! At the moment there are loads of old chaps in their 70's or 80's popping their clogs and their relatives are wondering what to do with the hundreds of Jazz LP's they have inherited. Difficult to give most of them away. Same thing will happen to 6T's vinyl in about 30 years time. Who will want it? Sell your records now before the price crash .............. but let me have first pick
  13. Yeah, I suppose "honest" was a poor choice of word, what I meant was he has actally said that it is a pressing he's had done and then states at the end that it is not an original. My point was that I couldn't understand why he was doing it. Will people pay 25 plus for what is essentially a boot? I suppose if he's using someone else's scan then maybe he hasn't actually had them cut yet? Who knows, the world is a strange place. I'm off to clean my beer lines. Cheers Paul
  14. If he doesn't seperate them out; that's a good thing! Keep looking
  15. Seen this on ebay, the seller seems to have a couple of similar items, and wondered what the point of it all was? Why press half a dozen copies? Who wants a rare pressing? https://cgi.ebay.com/NORTHERN-SOUL-THE-VOLU...1QQcmdZViewItem The seller is being quite honest though, in that he describes them correctly, I just can't see the point and wondered what anyone else felt? Apologies if anyone is offended by this post
  16. His feedback of 1 is from a buyer "popcorn.land" who has a feedback of 1 from a seller "grrove.records.shop"
  17. Cheers Rachel, I'll have a look for them.
  18. Quite interesting that, I don't buy off dealers anymore either, occasionally off Craig Moerer, otherwise nearly all the stuff I buy comes off eBay and hardly ever for silly money. I wonder if this t'interweb thing is affecting dealers sales? Cheers Paul
  19. Does anyone know if there is a soundtrack release for this show? Some of the tunes are great but not much of them gets played and I don't recognise that many. Just a thought. Cheers Paul
  20. My wife says The Dells - Make Sure sounds like the theme to Love Boat - ruined Love Boat for me.
  21. Thanks Stevie & Marc for the info, guess it is a hard one to price then. Might ebay the thing or put a list together for trades. Cheers again Paul
