  1. Came up as speaker cables when I cut & paste ???
  2. Yeah, she's always pinching my tunes
  3. I have a copy of Laugh, Laugh, Laugh by The Butlers but on my copy Butlers is spelt Bulters. Manships guide doesn't have any info other than it being booted on Lost nite. Here is a scan: The dead wax has "A.M.S." then a funny squiqqle stamped in it followed by "P-1836-B" on the Laugh side. It is fairly heavy vinyl. Is it a real one? Thanks Paul
  4. Well, can I say a personal thank you for finding them. I own a record I never thought I would and got it for a price that I thought very reasonable at the time, I doubt the value has been affected in the long term either. "I Just Can't Leave You" makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up every time I hear it. Good on you and thanks again.
  5. Is this an Lp only track? (love Jackie Wilson)
  6. Irony from an American , I must have misjudged him.
  7. Did he send you an invoice in UK pounds? if so then it seems reasonable for you to pay in that currency. If he hasn't been clear then its really his predicament not yours. Doesn't help you get your record though. Regarding ebay.co.uk v ebay.com; I have to say that my experience is that better prices are achieved for NS records on the UK site cos a lot of people seem to only look on there. Perhaps the arthur & franks are wising up. I regularly buy things on the .com site and sell them on the .co.uk for a profit. Ooops ... said a dirty word!
  8. Actually, I'll give you 30 for the one on the left but only 10 for the one on the right.
  9. I thought that a reasonably significant quantity of Tony Hestor demos were found about about 4 years ago - maybe a 50 box? (Is that significant quantity for a rare record? Dunno). A good few apeared on eBay at the time and I bought one for 200 dollars, they were absolutely mint as well. Someone will probably tell me now that they were never rare anyway Think they've disappeared into peoples collections now though. But that makes three titles Come on Pete, out with the Sam Dees rumour
  10. Pay him using PayPal if you can, if it doesn't show up you should get your money back. Leave him negative feedback. I've had the same thing done to me; you "win" something, you pay for it, the seller checks your feedback and sees you buy and sell Northern Soul so doesn't send the record; you claim your money back from PayPal and then said record turns up again on eBay at a higher price. Neg feedback every time on these scammers is the only way. Cheers Paul
  11. Last thing from me on this (thank f**k I hear you cry), got this this morning: Resolution of Buyer Complaint: Case no. PP-169-076-244 We have concluded our investigation into your Buyer Claim. We have decided in your favour and have recovered funds from the seller. We were able to recover $55.00 USD, and this amount has been credited to you. Please allow five business days for this adjustment to be posted. Still 7 quid down on the deal cos of the return postage but I reckon its worth that to get the moola back directly from the smug guy in Chicago. I'd still rather have had the record though. Thanks to everyone that gave me help and supported me, particularly to Pat Brady who couldn't have been more helpful. Cheers Paul
  12. Finishing this evening https://search.ebay.co.uk/_W0QQsassZ784tpQQhtZ-1 Thanks Paul
  13. Actually this item has just proved me wrong: https://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Northern-Soul-Origin...1QQcmdZViewItem Why doesn't anyone do that with my records on eBay?
  14. https://search.ebay.co.uk/_W0QQsassZ784tpQQhtZ-1 Thanks Paul
  15. Surely you're not suggesting that I am some recently reformed overspending ignoramus?
  16. This is quite a strange thing to say isn't it? Obviously I should have grovelled. I hope this means I am getting a refund, although I doubt Mr Erdman will have had any choice in the matter. His first post here was posted a couple of days after PayPal had instructed me to return the record. Anyway, I'm pleased that he has shown his true colours (or should that be colors?) on this forum as now a large number of serious record buyers appreciate his returns policy and acceptable breakage rate. Here's his website BTW www.derekerdman.com Click the badges and judge for yourselves. Cheers Paul
  17. All the ones I listed were off ebay too, I must admit I rarely buy from anywhere else these days. Mainly cos I don't get out to do's anymore Soon will tho'
  18. Is the correct answer! Paul (also in the Jo Wallace fan club)
  19. Just asking this as in the last two weeks I've managed to get 3 of my top wants for prices that even a Yorkshireman like me will pay. I've also noticed that it has been much harder to sell records over the last few months. I wondered if anyone else has noticed this trend? Or have I just been lucky? The 3 tunes: Cody Black - Mr Blue (for about 175 - never seen it for less than 300) Parliaments - Heart Trouble (for 110 - again never seen it at less than 150 & missed it a good few times on eBay for 150 ish) Terry Callier - Look at me now (for about 130, checked popsike and always has gone for over 200). Anyway, serious question not a chuff, but I am chuffed and now skint. Also hope my missus doesn't read this.
  20. Looks like the seller cancelled all the bids cos they had sold it privately. Just a guess.
  21. Just an update on this as I know you've all been waiting with bated breath I contacted Pat Brady who has assessed and confirmed the damage and produced the required document which is now with PayPal. Can't thank the man enough really, top of my top bloke list. Thanks also to KirstyM for her help too. I just hope they find in my favour now as I'd really like to be one up on the smug b*st*rd in Chicago who has caused all this hassle. ebay id: hydeparkrecords! (with an exclamation mark).
  22. Jock Mitchell - Not A Chance In A Million - 150 quid in 1999, plenty more since then though
  23. Sorry, I thought you were someone else. In fact there is a current thread discussing this. BTW what sort of jacket indicates that you are into Northern Soul? I must get one.
