Sorry, couldn't dance to the first one, just made me put my fingers in my ears. The second one was quite nice but if someone played it out at a Northern night I would wander off and look at the record sellers boxes whilst tapping my feet. To me funk is something that I would listen to at home and buy on CD, I have a New Yorican Funk CD somewhere, don't know what it is but must root it out and play it as I seem to remember there were some nice tracks on it. Funk just doesn't do the same thing to my head that Northern does though, if you get my meaning Just my opinion. Cheers Paul P.S. Watford's football is shite, even Watford supporters think so. Last time they were in the Prem and came to Upton Park most of them on the tube actually said that they didn't think they should be there and it would be a while before they visited again.

Mine was 62 dollars so I guess its worth it, I was going to sell it on but it is so clean I think I'll keep it. Cheers Paul

Cheers Gene, The delta stamp is actually 46644-x and there is 45 5-403 scratched on each side with a 1 in a circle on the Little Words side and a 2 in a circle on the Arabia side. There is a faint MR stamp in a circle on both sides too. I'm fairly sure it is an original but had no idea of value or rarity. thanks Paul

I've just got a Delcos - Arabia/Those Three Little Words - Showcase 2501 White promo copy. I've never seen one of these before, only seen red issues so I just wondered how rare it is and what sort of value it has. I know the issues go for 20-40 (although one sold for over 70 on eBay recently ) but have no idea regarding a white demo. All comments gratefully received, Ta.

As I said on another thread, time they had black pudding and lard in the basket! Mikey knows best but Miffs is the best answer so far. I don't think you can be too precise with this, I think a better indicator would be to look at general equivalence. On the "what/when was your first 100 quid record" thread, someone said they had spent a weeks wages on a record. So if your weeks wages then was 30 quid and an equivalent job now has wages of 300 quid a week then I would suggest that 14 quid = 140 now. Possibly

I take the view that most records that I want will eventually come to me at a price I am prepared to pay. Since deciding this I've found that collecting is much more relaxed as if I miss something then it is obviously too expensive . It is too stressful and expensive chasing "must have" items. There are quite a few records that I really would like to have but have accepted that I would never pay the money for them; Peoples Choice on Palmer, Al Williams, Professionals etc I'm sure you can have any record you want if you pay enough money. Much more enjoyable looking for stuff and then getting it at a decent price. Most recent example is Carl Carlton - I Can Feel It on Back Beat, its taken me about a year to get a copy, haven't tried too hard but kept a look out, then got one off ebay for $41 (dunno what it goes for) and it turned out to be a demo.

Played "Little ANthony - Nothing from Nothing" down at These Old Shoes in the middle of a good set. Cleared the floor; Wallace pissing herself laughing screaming "what's that shite!" in my ear; then noticed Mr Croasdell had popped down as we were due to guest at the 100 club later that month just in time to catch my empty floor; lost my cool ; finished my set glowering, then told anyone who came near me to f*** off for about the next hour; went up to chat with big Roger the doorman who happily agreed with me that everything was shite etc etc Record went into my sales box and sold, but I still cringe when I hear it. I did like it though.

Coincidentally, I was trying to buy this off a guy in the states a couple of years back, he gave me a price and then I said I would have it at the end of May (it was the middle of May) when I had the money. Just before the end of may I blacked out about 4 times whilst getting the pub ready to open and ended up in cardiac care in the local hospital, they fitted me with a pacemaker the next day and I am now fit and healthy again. Just thought it was a bizarre coincidence that I was trying to buy a record called "Heart Trouble" at the time Oh yes, when I got back out of hospital the guy wouldn't return my emails, took me another 2 years to get one, just waiting for it to turn up now, fingers crossed.

I knew I couldn't afford it

I reckon you've got it right Dave There was a similar thread to this a couple of months ago and I mentioned the generation who collected Jazz - all now popping their clogs and massive collections up for sale. Some stuff is stiil valuable but most isn't as there is plenty about with a limited market. With a bit of luck, this thread and the one I started about records getting cheaper will have people scrambling for eBay to offload and we can have our pick

Will do Actually, I'm just bumping this above that pesky Magnetics thread

Mmm, 72 squid a year sounds a bit much for automated emails & feedback. Maybe I don't sell enough on eBay to warrant it but you can get quite a good record for 72 sovs, do they take less out of the end price?
-
Don't think I've ever heard "No Time" before, what a good tune!
-
Seems fair enough for 5 dollars though. I think I'd have a bash at all his 45's if I could get them for 5 a piece, they might clean up. Wouldn't have drawn attention to them here though.

If you list on the .co.uk it shows on the .com but not the other way round if you are in the US. I wish I hadn't told anyone now, I'm sure people know anyway but not everyone. Me and my big mouth.

Sorry, I was completely scooped when I posted this.
