  1. It's probably more group harmony than northern but what quality! Just wondered if it was known? https://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...p;rd=1&rd=1 https://www.geocities.com/jeffib2003/realaudio/kaldirons.rm Cheers Paul
  2. That's obviously not the same thing, if its someone who just wants to know what something is, or wants to have a look, fair enough - I do that myself. These people are generally pleasant though, its the staring at records-that-have-been-booted to see if its a real one that gets my goat.
  3. I personally think this is just the worst practice ever, there seems to always be at least one person at a gig who comes up and glares at a record which is on the deck like they have some right to check it, makes my blood boil. Seen it happen to Jo when she played Stewart Ames, she actually had to hold the record up after it finished to show the guy it had King For A Day on the other side. I played Yvonne Baker - You Didn't Say A Word out somewhere once and some guy came and stood and watched it go round and round for about a minute. I eventually said sarcastically "It's Yvonne Baker, mate" "I know that" he says, all indignant "I just wanted to see if it was a proper one" So I said "Sorry, I didn't notice your armband" He had no idea what I was talking about. Now I'm only a small time wanabee DJ so I suppose people think they have some right to check my records but does anyone ever do it to the big names?
  4. I think people should be able to play what they've got in their box, playing a record that another DJ is "associated" with is not a crime really. I suppose that if you know there are only 2 copies and the guy associated with the other is DJing with you (and you have one) then maybe you are right to tiptoe round him. I know that some DJ's play the boots of rare originals that they have due to better sound quality or caring for the original or summat, never worked out wether this is right or not, but playing boots of something you haven't got at a venue that is supposed to be OVO is not really on. Name and shame please. At the end of the day though, most of the people on the dance floor wouldn't know or care.
  5. Yes please, can you drop me a pm with condition and price please. Thanks muchly Paul
  6. Where's the Continental Showstoppers?
  7. That wall is a good incentive to stay upright on yer board, bloody hell!
  8. --> QUOTE(Mike B @ Apr 21 2007, 09:51 PM) link Oops Yes, so you should be You could always sell it to me at a profit?
  9. That's superb, is that an original poster? What size is it? I have a couple of original Motown posters kicking abot somewhere, 70's US ones though. I've got a handful of the EPs but never gone after them seriously though. Really like picture sleeve records. Thanks Paul
  10. I was being ironic, telling everyone what a good tune it is doesn't help my search much
  11. You keep talking it down mark, the copies will flood in

I've never dealt with your guy but just had a similar thing with an american. I should have known better as the description was vague and didn't have a proper grading. We swapped messages where I complained and he said my listings were not clear either (???), after a few where he/she basically avoided doing anything I left neg feedback saying how poor the record was and that he/she didn't want to resolve things then he/she left neg feedback saying I wouldn't accept a refund (which he/she hadn't offered!), then I commented on his neg, then he commented on mine, then I followed up on his etc etc. Negative feedback is the way to go but you will lose your 100% rating, I lost my 100% back in 1999 so I'm not bothered anymore, I have 5 negs out of 800+ with a rating of 563 so when I need to leave negative feedback I do as 1 more on mine doesn't bother me. If you can stand not having 100% then leave neg feedback, you have 400+ he has 50 so any tit-for-tat will hurt him more, and also warn other people. Most northern record buyers & sellers know each others ID's so they know which feedback to take notice of. Failing that if you paid him by paypal you will have his address, just polish off that old baseball bat and pay him a visit
  14. Can't see one on his site at the mo Anyone?
  15. First: Rubin - You've been away - MCA at The Casino on the one and only time I went (yes, push me off the balcony if you want ) Last: Olympics - No More Will I Cry - Loma which turned up yesterday and is trashed - neg feedback left for the theiving american (ebay ID skv50) Cheers Paul
  16. Very good Simon! My first was River Deep Mountain High by The Tops & The Supremes. As an aside, a long term obsession is collecting the first 100 UK Motown LP's, got about 60 at the mo, just bought another 4 off the eBay at between a fiver & a tenner a piece, apart from 11007 which cost me 30+. Meet The Temptations (11009) just went for an outrageous 129 quid If anyone has any they don't want I'm quite happy to have them at a reasonable price if I haven't got them already, its not too compulsive an obsession though so don't hike em up Cheers Paul
  17. Just wondering whether this was of interest to anyone who collects artists? Eddie Foster - I'll Reach My Goal Someday/Baby Let's Try It Again - Soulful Records 1003 - M- No idea of value, make me an offer, not after silly money just want it to go to a home where it will be appreciated. Scans of both sides: Could do sound files if desperately needed. Thanks Paul
  18. I've an Atlantic demo that I'd part with for a good offer. It's VG+ (maybe ++) with some light marks. Cheers Paul
  19. Just got outbid on ebay by 1 dollar ..... I suppose it could have been more. Anyway, would anyone like to part with one of these please? Cheers Paul
  20. Replied to everyone, removed all the sold ones and will add some more tonight if I get the time. Thanks Paul

I think Google will have to buy eBay if they want to compete with paypal. ebay own paypal and that's where most of paypal's business comes from. Be nice to have some competition tho as competitiion always drives down prices.
  22. Perhaps your people could talk to my people, there could be some synergy here?
  23. I know these are obvious bootlegs, its just I've not seen this batch before. If its acceptable to boot stuff these days without bothering to licence tracks then I think I'll start doing it myself. At 7.99 a pop (Frank Popp?) when the cost of having them produced must be about a couple of quid it beats working really. Is it acceptable? I know its a subject that has been covered a number of times but I feel it is important to stop the modern day bootlegger. IMO If every popular tune is booted and that is seen as acceptable, then playing said boots will also become acceptable, nobody will bother with originals. I understand why it was done in the 70's; at that time vinyl was the medium for music, but these days why buy bootleg vinyl unless you're going to DJ with it? CD's/mp3's etc are far more convenient for home use. If people think that because bootlegs have always been part of the scene and so bootlegging today is OK then its time to sell up and start bootlegging methinks. This awe we have for original vinyl must be wearing off. Cheers Paul
  24. Bump Awww come on, I'm trying to raise the money to get my Scooter back on the road and have the dent knocked out. I thought there was some good value 45's here to be honest . Destined for the wonderous eBay on Monday/Tuesday. Cheers Paul
