  1. There's a few of these on eBay [here] - prices from the sublime to the ridiculous. I remember buying my copy in the late 90's for 15 quid when it was difficult to sell for 20
  2. One of these has just appeared on eBay [here]
  3. Here! Last time I tried to sell these you told me they were only worth £10 each!
  4. But the guy that was willing to pay 103.75 has already got one. Only just heard it myself, beautiful tune.
  5. I haven't looked through mine for ages, because the last time I did I thought "What the f**k are you doing with all these records? What are they for?". I thought I was morphing into the missus! Yvonne Baker started looking like a new sail for my dinghy. Slippery slope that I might just roll down in the next few weeks.
  6. There's a really nice French picture sleeve of this which is also on GSF (from EMI). As it is such a cheapie you might as well have the piccy sleeve.
  7. Should be 40 - 60 but you may see it up to 100 There's an "OK to dj from" copy on eBay [here] - a day or so left at $9.99 Came out on a yellow label too Under The Streetlamp is the best side IMHO
  8. Exciters on eBay [here] - Buy It Now Irma Thomas on eBay [here] - $6 start and 5 days to go
  9. There's a couple of cheap ones on eBay [here] - both buy it now
  10. One on ebay [here] - finishes today (9th Sep) though
  11. Moerer has one on eBay at the moment [here] which you may or may not have seen. It is his normal (these days) optimistic price though not terrible. He used to do well priced records but seems to have just lost the plot recently.
  12. Tell me about it! I'm just a tight fisted yorkshireman. Found the email from the snipe service (item listing long gone) from January 2009: Description: CRESA WATSON Salvation CHARAY Northern Soul 45 Listen! Your Max Bid: 117.00 Quantity: 1 Auction Item Link: https://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=170291858167 The Results of your bid: ============================ Bid was not high enough
  13. Having sticky out ears can help slow you down if you over rotate though .............. errr, apparently
  14. One went through ebay last year for about $120 - I was the second bidder, the listing had a sound file and sounded 10 times better than the Robert Thomas version, didn't know it was so rare
  15. I have to say I cannot be bothered to look through records at car boots, it just takes too long and 99.99% are just rubbish. I know showaddywaddy got to number one but I didn't realise how many single sales that took in the 70's. These days I look for family bibles (ones with family trees in) or interesting personal papers/diaries/books etc. They are easier to spot and so don't take up as much time.
  16. Unfortunately you can't leave negative or even neutral feedback as a seller. Starting a non-paying bidder case might even bring more problems if ebay sides with the buyer (as it frequently does) particularly if the buyer says it is a boot. If it was me selling then, even though it was clearly listed as a re-issue (and everyone knows what that means), I would sort out a mutual withdrawal of the sale and get my fees back and put it down the increasingly high proportion of loons that buy on ebay these days. No point getting into an argy bargy, move on. Cheers Paul
  17. I'd got mine down to about 1000 singles and a couple of hundred Lp's .... ..... but its started growing again Don't tell my missus
  18. Haven't bought much recently so this is over about 3 months: Roger Wade - Little Girl - Harmon (for a ridiculous $9.99) Innervision - Honey Baby Be Mine - Private Stock (A Jo Wallace Tip - got two copies) Minits - Still A Part Of Me - Sounds Of Memphis Sensations - I won't Be Hurt - Way Out (The $10 copy of ebay, also got a $10 copy of Competition Ain't Nothing in the same package - selling that so it doesn't count) Gay Jamison - Stay Another Day - Turntable
  19. There's one on eBay at the mo [here] - but I think he's read this thread
  20. There's one on eBay [here] - M- Think this seller is Rob Messer?

    The Trends

There's one on eBay [here] - looks a tad overpriced but the seller might negotiate.
  22. Spotted another collection on eBay [here] - finishes today - 201 records including a flight case. It's been bid up to £690 and to me that looks a bit over the top. There seems to be a lot of boots,re-issues and pressings in there. There are a couple that look like they might be worth a few bob if they are originals but that's a big if. Does nobody care for originals any more? Still, I suppose at less than £4 a record with a free flight case it must look like a bargain to some. But at times like these I don't think I'd part with the thick end of a grand for it - to me these are records that are worth a quid each at best. Wonder what it will finish at? Funny old world
