  1. The sad passing of BP prompted me to dig out a few of his best and I seem to have misplaced this LP. Anyone with a copy to sell would be great. Thanks, Gary
  2. In addition to the record selling/buying forum, this is equally the best attribute of SS. One man asks if there is a soul night in Koera... and pop! there you go! That's an Internet forum functioning at it's best, in my opinion.
  3. Hi folks, After a copy of this please, Best Gaz.
  4. A few tentative enquiries and more welcome Thanks, Gaz.
  5. Hello, after a nice copy of this please. Thanks, Gaz
  6. Hi folks, after a copy of Spiritual Four - If you think your god is dead. Thanks
  7. Hi Folks, After two collection fillers please, Bobby Womack - Across 110th Street Derek Marin - Sly Girl Ta, Gary

  9. Great tunes - really sounds like The Rolling Stones- Miss you, but faster....
  10. Its strange to think that she's become a brand or at least marketed as such.
  11. Great news! Well done Shane, Gary.
  12. Unless Funkhouse are different from Funkhouse Express... £60 for an acetate would be fair though?
  13. Very nice - looks a bit like the multi-coloured Sam Fletcher, but tidier...The colours of the SF's don't bleed together
  14. Kev posted something up about him in Feb - he was featured in the Guardian's weekend 'one to watch'. I'm a fan. He's backstory is good too. He was a kitchen porter and really into his hip-hop/grime and someone played some early 60's soul on the radio and he was a game changer, apparently...
  15. And, in addition to my Q above... "Every Friday will be a pure Northern Soul night operating a tongue-in-cheek ‘Strictly No Handbags’ policy, thus making sure Soul fans know not to expect crossover or mainstream soul. In contrast every Saturday will operate a ‘handbags welcome’ policy, with a large disco ball and DJs playing a range of Motown, Soul, Funk, Ska, 60s r & b, and more." I'm also confused about what a 'hand-bagger' is. I thought hand baggers were top 50 and Frank Wilson 5 times a night. A night of funk/Ska/ R'n'B isn't a handbag' thing, is it? The Disco balls, yes... I thought a 'pure northern night' had become the oldies, hand bag scene.
  16. So, why is Brum a difficult gig...? Wasn't there a fairly decent mod night there by...Rob...??? I can't remember.
  17. Agreed- I got a record from him last Xmas and it arrived within a week.
  18. Agreed chaps. Like Ron Burgundy, I too love a flute! All sorted now. Cheers, Gaz.
  19. A clean copy of Joyce Williams - The First Thing I Do In The Morning Must be VG++ as a min condition. Not interested in the copy on Discogs, its too expensive, IMO. Thanks, Gary
  20. Hello all, I'm after 2 cheapie's, Ray Charles - I Got a Woman (I think it's only on the 'Atlantic Oldies Gold' label). Ray Charles - I don't need no Dr (i'll have the abc issues, or the French 7" EP, but only if the sleeve is decent). Cheers, Gaz.
  21. Before I opened the link I had a feeling this guy would look as he did. A cross between a subject librarian & an extra from Scooby-doo I respect the guy and far from being a bootlegger, he's a preservationist.
  22. Hi All, Saturday Live this morning on BBC Radio 4 featured a really, really interesting feature/chat with Porter. He is peppered throughout the broadcast as well as having his own specific segment, so worth listening form the start. He's got a great radio persona and a charming story teller. https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b05tbf5h
