  5. I think its about perception, both for the DJ/collector and also the music/sound. I think Callum Simpson and I did fairly well in our late 20s to introduce Boco - Running the Mardis Grais to the scene (i'm sure others did too, before anyone nails me to the cross) but I can say with confidence we were one of the first. To give him his dues, Callum before me. James Pogson is another great character to give a nod too, an before any of them, Liam Quinn was pulling out all sorts of gems before he moved away from the scene - Felix Harris, Underground Express, Nina Dunn... he was on fire for a while.
  6. Hi all, I'm off to Montreal, Canada for a week, starting this saturday 17th. Can anyone recommend any good spots to have a root around - shops, dealers, or even a place to go listen to some tunes and have a beer. Soul, funk, disco... I worship at a broad church. GB
  7. I've got a Zomo bag, works a treat. Use it 2 or 3 times a year - its desecrate, comfortable due to the strap and you can get a few pair's of socks and boxers in there too, job's a good'un https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Zomo-Ragga-Bag-45-Record-Bag-7Inch-vinyl-DJ-150-Capacity-Black-/182489266056

  17. Interesting! Just thought that colour was the outcome of Chalky's scan. what about mine, please tell me its not a boot!
  18. Mine doesn't have any distribution info on it...
  19. Manufactured by Gateway recordings...?
  20. Very rarely see the yellow issue up for sale. Is it rarer?
  21. I would agree, Russ. It happened for me with John Harris and the Soul Sayers. By the time it just got going it was reissued, but as I say, some hold their value (listening value I mean). But what about price... you think it's going to affect you re your purchase?
  22. Hi folks, Just canvasing opinions... When a record, usually very rare (though not always the case) is reissued by... Fryer, Jazzman etc is it good or bad for those who own the original. Does it go one of two ways... 1. It drives up demand thus further increasing the value of an already sought after/expensive record. 2. it kills off the demand because of market saturation and overkill vis-a-vis because its been reissued it's also not as sought after even though OVO collectors will always only buy OVO, does it loose some of its magic? perhaps the latter caveat is subjective, as some records are always going to be winners in my opinion... I'm thinking Tony T - What's the Use or Sage War Fare - Don't be so Jive.
