  1. Thats only my view on things, he might have a different idea, but in principle, I think that's how it'd work.
  2. I used to organise festivals, and in essence it has two function. 1. It harnesses someone else's knowledge and contacts to broaden the content of the venue/event often within the same 'vain', (I say vain and not genre, because it's a flexible thing usually) - essentially it takes away Ady's responsibility to pick the DJ's. 2. It harnesses someone else's creditability to further build the reputation of the night/event - freshens things up and brings in new punters who follow a specific night e.g. Sean Haydon picks...or a Inner City Soul presents a night at the 100 Club, The European Soul Weekender vs The 100 Club. That'd be my guess, the ATP suggestion by Stu is a good template. Different Strokes do it with the back room; making feature events, or having other clubs play - generally works well. **edit** sorry for the original grammar, I was using my phone
  3. as long as it doesn't top a grand, I'll rest easy. I sold my Invitations - Watch Out Little Girl last year too, thinking i'd had my fun with it and the market looked good...oh well,...and then we have my "Keep off the Grass" sale...i have form! But i buy them cheap too so, its all ok, I guess so with that in mind, keep an eye on my sales!
  4. Buddy Ace on hold, with a sizeable queue for it! I think i've missed a trick here!?
  5. two gems for sale, Fantastic Epics - Lets get Together on Kelton. VG+ condition. My old copy from the playbox, so a good quality! there are a few small marks on the vinyl but doesn't effect play. Great gloss on the vinyl. Strong copy Small bit of ring wear and fade on the label but nothing too bad Flip has a bit of noise on the run in, and a sticker on the label. there are a few small marks on the vinyl surface, but overall a nice copy. Price reflects description. £85.00 Buddy Ace - Pleasing You - White Demo Vinyl condition is M- unblemished vinyl with great gloss and shine on vinyl. Writing on both sides of the record, but thats all. £70.00
  6. I think it is an expensive record now - I got one for £80 - I think its nearing £200 now - recent sales have basically gone up in increments of of £25.00 Re anything else, I can only speak from experience but Teddy and the Finger Poppers is another. Had two, sold the spare for £100! And it could have gone 3 times over the day I listed it with PM's and questions. Another is the Fabulastics - Nothing but Determination on Great Potential. I got 3 of them and couldn't give them away and then someone must have played it because they went out the door in a flash, all within a week and now they're £150 a piece on discogs etc. Teddy is great, but the Fabulastics is an awful record in my opinion - I couldn't ever get it to work in with anything else I owned, but its working for others and the price reflects it.
  7. He is currently selling a nice tune that is open for offers, Azza... I think we have another copy of Boco on the shores ;)
  8. We should all send him a barrage of messages in the closing 30mins asking... Is the tea-towel used in the photo, which the record is placed upon, also for sale. Can he post the Aside and B-side to separate location Is the top and bottom of the record missing, can he clarify that they're not
  9. Some one somewhere with a few John Harris's has said, 'stick that on there for me will ya' to drive up demand for a very rare record, that's my cynical view - great tune though
  10. Hi Folks, here is a list (in order) for the hour. Had a great time, good crowd, very open-minded, even though its an uptempo 60's night, I got away with a few modern bits. 11. Hi all, not sure this is the appropriate place, but there is a link below with a podcast I did a few months ago, and then never shared it..however, the time has come! Originally conceived for Kieran Lockyear's interesting 'Straight from the Play Box' series I copied the mix and set up my own mixcloud, but its still on his page, along with a load of other goodies. Anywho, now that i'm au fait with the technology and can be arsed to go through my shelves, I'm going to make a concerted effort to do a few more. https://www.mixcloud.com/gary-bratchford/ Cheers! Track listing: 1.OH BABY (PRESTIGE) BY BILLY HAWKS 2.LETS START A ROMANCE (ARVEE) BY LITTLE JOE HINTON 3.MY ISABELLA (JUBILEE) BY DANNY COBB 4.PAIN (BEAST) BY LITTLE FLINT 5.I ONLY GET THIS FEELING (BLUE SOUL) BY BOB MEYER 6.YOU AND I ARE THROUGH (A BEM SOUL) BY KENNY & LARRY 7.EXODUS (FORWARD) BY BOBBY LEE FEARS 8.IF YOU THINK YOUR GOD IS DEAD (HOB IS GOSPEL) BY THE SWAN SILVERTONES 9.HE LEFT YOU STANDING THERE (FUTURE DIMENSION) BY SIR HENRY IVY 10.PRECIOUS DOVE (BROTHER LOVE PRODUCTIONS) BY BROTHER LOVE
  12. Yeah, sorry, I think I bought it, if it was two week or so ago
  13. Anyone? Still looking. Thanks, Gary
  14. Hello, after a clean copy of Karen Small - To Get you Back Again. PM with condition and price. Thanks, Gary
  15. Apparently, there is one that says Barbara AND Gwen too
  16. Ah cool, I've got the one on the left, with the extra 'o' but its more of an orange label, rather than red. Going through my shelves so except more questions! Thanks for the into though guys, really appreciate it. Best Gary
  17. Hi guys, Another label comparison question to follow up on my Curtis, the Brothers one. Whats the difference (aside from the misprint) of the following two issues of the Funk/B-Boy record, Right On? Are they both legit? I'm not aware of it being booted. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks, Gary
  18. I had a feeling you'd be the one to reply Sebastian. Thanks! I've never seen an issue either, nor have I seen a black text pressing, so I just guessed that was rarer? may be wrong though.
  19. Morning all, Just wondering if anyone had an info on this 7" Did it ever get an official release? Whats the difference between the red text label and the black - different times e.g. blk first or does it relate to different areas of release? Cheers! Gary
