  1. Not vinyl related but tenuous scene related, so feel free to disable/delete - I won't make a face. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VESPA-400-CAR-yes-vespa-400-car-to-restore-YOU-GOT-THE-SCOOTERS-so-get-the-car-/271630989313?pt=UK_Motorcycles&hash=item3f3e77f801
  2. Pretty sure Butch has a copy.
  3. Wonder if some reward money might help get these back? Unless your loaded Gary I can chip a ten or a twenty. If some other kind souls did similar it may help. If they never turned up and you used the reward money to buy back some faves, that would be better than the current unimaginable miz?
  4. So do I Ivor and I'll wager most that have read this sad thread think the same. I'm wondering if the person or persons who stole them are reading this thread? That is was saddens me nearly as much as Gary losing his lifetime's collection. This scene is made up of people that care about each other, that want to help each other out and you know and knew that Mr Thief. This is not the act of a friend and don't think of trying to out these records in other countries in time, the Soul Police are internationally ubiquitous and omnipresent. A 'Find Gary's Stolen Records' facebook group can unite and alert everyone who knows this music to be watchful. There is no end to the detail that can be posted about these records, so that's you fooked mate! Give them back and do it now. Stash them somewhere safe if you have to and call the old bill anonymously and let them know. Be a good egg and leave Gary's address (which you're familiar with) with the records.

  6. Sickened by this Gary, I've just been reading over the page some of the records that are missing and my breakfast is churning. I want to form a posse of a couple of thousand of us roaming the country for your records and get them back to you tonight in pristine nick. Some fecker knows something. Anyway, since posting the above early yesterday afternoon, I have had quite a few requests for Hiscox number. So for any that are interested - 0845 072 8535 ask for a proposal form for the vinyl collectors scheme. 7. Appalling, I always feel safe with our people when at a do or similar. Though as already stated, someone in the know must have been involved in this terrible act of theft. I really must press on with indexing the collection and get them insured! 10-25k worth - £125 policy (50 excess) 25-50k " - £195 " " 50-75k " - £250 " " 75-100k " - £300 " " I spoke to a guy called Paul and he said it was OK to put the number up 01892 506 884 or go to the website www.newmooninsurance.com
  8. Brogues or loafers.
  9. Great record. Good dancer, with a great clapping ending.
  10. Still more soulful than this;
  11. What is that female vocal of Lonely Girl? Bass play out at the end of the track is brilliant.
  12. So you still got it Nick?
  13. And this is James Jamerson (solo) - Bernadette, very best of the best.
  14. Emperors New X Over & Funky Rhythm & Soul Society? NO. 6t's Rhythm & Soul Society.
  15. Maybe us lot should take up Yoga? Or watch youtube yoga vids when no one's in.. If Brucie can get new tv contracts on a dancing show at 86, there is hope for the rest of us and hey, didn't do Ryan Giggs playing career any harm? Billy Whizz and Geoff Green are (respectfully) no spring chickens age-wise, though they're out on the floor all night every Saturday night. Doubt they bothered with Yoga or owt like that either..
  16. A mate got a mint demo from a boot sale in South London for 50p a year or so back. Said his hand was shaking as he handed over the 50p.
  17. What it lacks in soulful content, it makes up for as a peppy dancer.
  18. 38 posts and only 1 mention? Lets put that right and mention it again, The Tempests!
  19. You had to be there I suppose.
  20. I think the fact that there were 90+ venues going in the 80's proves the scene wasn't dead. When that list was written in 2005, people were using terms like 'death throes' which is just wrong.
