  1. It's not though pete n susan, that's the thing...
  2. 'Muted' was the term used. Yeah there is still clapping, here and there in a halfhearted half arsed sort of way. Nothing like it used to be though.
  3. Me. Were you one of the 'not fussed either way' Sand?
  4. Has that tape got Toni Basil on it? That sounded awsome with the claps at Wigan - Sir Richard Searling spin.
  5. Not quite, but I fear it's heading that way... There's a facebook group right there Pete!
  6. So based on results so far we still love the clap! So why are we so timid about it these days? We're proud clappers to a man/woman, sure. Majority of us will remember the 100+ unison crack at a certain point 20 something years ago and there just isn't the ferocity these days is there? I've never heard clapping at Lifeline for example, which is no slight on that event, it's a top event. But it highlights my point on how perhaps this element has drifted?
  7. I think it may be fair to say that whilst some 'clapper' records may be out of vogue, some others are not; I'm thinking Checkerboard Squares v Patrinell Staten?
  8. I remember it, may have started it, but you can't whack a good poll for what folk really think.
  9. We don't get 500 people clapping in unison these days though, not even at Stoke. Also recent and semi recent discoveries don't seem to have claps attached to them?
  10. Thanks for the inspiration, round of applause infact..
  11. Yes clapping again. Talking about during the record, not at the end. At the Fleet in the early 80's clapping was widespread. There were obscure claps, like in 'They'll never know why' that only the cool clappers knew about. These days clapping is muted, pretty much all over the country. Was this an integral part of 'the feeling' that made the record/atmos/night that extra bit special? Or are they like beer towels now? Oh the shame ...
  12. You not got high def pigeons up norf yet? https://www.bbc.co.uk/glastonbury/2010/artists/steviewonder/
  13. Watched quite a bit of his set, thought he was great! Didn't notice any problems with the sound, but the telly in the bedroom doesn't have quite the same gusto as that of the one in the drawing room!
  14. Nah I think he's gone by then.
  15. Been some good threads on this subject down the years Jon, worth having a little search. Was as a result of one of these threads I had my best ever record haul, involving the original producer and ten, no make that eleven mint unplayed copies!
  16. Back on the forum you mean? I remember his last stint, didn't last long - thank God!
  17. Fortunately I can't see anything that twat has posted on FB, he's blocked me. Sickened how he treated the guy that wrote the book. Wouldn't believe any info that chancer posted - but then his name is an anagram of 'Liars Newsy Nuts'..
  18. YES!!! Fantastic stuff SONBERT thanks for posting. The Temptations, best of the best.
  19. I think the trailers look interesting. With the amount of research that went into it, I wonder why these dodgy scenes weren't edited? Whilst feeling deeply sorry for him.. Winstanley!
  20. Your point is schtum unless you've seen it. My point is we're allowed to express views on what we've seen, heard and read so far. So there.
  21. So? Pete, you could not have seen the film in it's entirety, written the above and still be 'dead on balls' accurate. If you'd written a credible play as well, even more so!
  22. No you're being too harsh there. They've heard stuff way back about this film, the plot, they've seen trailers, mates who have danced as extras.. Based on the information available they were entitled to express their views. Nothing pathetic about that. If this film ever reaches a cinema anywhere remotely near me, I would be very interested to see it.
  23. Lighten up baby, this is a discussion forum ffs, 'backbiting'..
  24. I do like the sound of this Philly.
