  1. Spinning is the easy part. Stopping is the hard part.
  2. Corinne Drewery from Swing Out Sister was an avid soul fan.
  3. Ian Dury. Once Upon a Time is the only one I've bothered seeing so far. Attention to detail seeming to be the main ingredient lacking..
  4. Well there's a thread going about the dozens that have been through Ebay - all with the same pic! I don't think Chris is a chancer, he said what he'd been through for his copy. However Chris if you'd scrutinized Popsike, I'm wondering where your middle ground figure came from? Bottom of a beer glass! I'll say one thing Chris, it's a debate-worthy thread. Normal practice, I'm with Des.
  5. Anyone who would be willing to pay 500 quid for a soul record is going to know that stuff anyway. Seller said he consulted other threads and Popsike and came away with the price he did. For the condition of his copy, this wasn't really right. As the others have said, we'd keep schtum if it was a bit ott, but psychedelically ott warrants a mention. We're not gagged chumps sitting on the fence here.
  6. No, they seem to be selling for $500, not £500.
  7. Defining crossover is like knitting fog! General definition issupposed to be late 60's more funky type stuff, but not to be confused by non soul records that have crossed over and been played on the NS scene like The Ceasers & Tony Galla etc etc..
  8. Yep that about sums it up for me. She was the same about the Vandellas on one of those review docu's "I did all the bookings" "I did all the costumes" "I I I, me me me" ... Give over Mart, ffs!
  9. I couldn't seem to find an intro for you LTW? (Sorry I don't know your name). Welcome to Soul Source. I think folk get a warmer reception when they've introduced themselves. You know who your dealing with and what their motivations are etc. Rather than on, and sell sell sell! Big fond of the 100 Club & Soul Bros 6 btw.
  10. Where did you get your copy from Russ? If you don't mind us asking like..
  11. Nah not Dome, Scenesville - would have been Andy?
  12. Was played at the Dome round about this sort of time also.
  13. Thought so, cinemas nil. Straight to dvd. Farce!
  14. Well that answers the price question - 25 quid from Vinyl Carvers.. Soul Police stance - Rob Thomas given copies/cd's/carvers okay to play out as that was then etc - any out playing carver chancers these days, tsk..
  15. No.
  16. Low grade priceless then.. These copies... Carvers? Must be, unissued etc.. Not the sort of thing you'd take in yer play box, but I'd love to hear it Des!
  17. Any idea on price for this?
  18. Arthur Fenn. - Andy Rix - (cheers Chalx) Don't ask, more than you can afford.
  19. Thanks chaps! Whose got em? How many copies? How much? Will search for other threads..
  20. Yeah I've got the tape. I haven't got the lead that goes from the headphone socket to line in, else I'd freecorder an mp3 of it. Feckin amazing track. Maybe I'll write on Dawn's wall, see if I can speed things along ...
  21. Toughie this. Pretty sure it's from a free Scenesville tape, covered up as "There Was A Time" - Butch sounding male mid tempo stepper. If ever a record sounded like a thousand pounds on first spin, this is it! Stroke them there chins and let us know any ideas.. Tony Smith II, I'm looking at you ..
  22. Lost interest after I read one of them was called 'Spanner' ..
