    A mate of mine was in Philadelphia circa 1990. He was on the phone to a record dealer who said "you're into northern soul"? I got a record here, I just know you're gonna wet your pants"! lol. Twas of course the above mentioned. Half deserves some of the hype I spose, though nothing spesh in truth and a bit too fast to be a decent dancer imo.

    Would you shout about a Frank Wilson pressing, signed or otherwise? DJ's all over the country? That's all of us then! .. On the northern scene, everyone's a dj. That said they just look so damn good, great big box of records... Wouldn't pay fourteen hundred quid though. Let alone seven & a half grand!

    I think our scene is richer for having the involvement of Ian Levine. On a personal note, I'm a bit flabbergasted by some of my gay glib remarks all those years back and Simon White you were right twice and I was wrong twice.

    Pete Waterman is okay. At least he's a Northerner. Fair play to the bloke for liking rare soul and even knowing Hoagy Lands. Same sort of view with Peter Stringfellow. Not everyone's cuppa, but a low grade Sheffield soul ledge and for those reasons, he can do no wrong in my book.

    We took Karime to Clegg the other year and she was singing along with her Mum's cd's and yes, difficult to tell them apart.

    Yeah that's actually Willie & The Hand Jive innt! Lol. Erm as long as 'any site' is a northern soul site - or item has a northern soul tag, it should be okay as interested parties should/would know the score. Chances of a non rare soul collector bidding on a rare soul cover up - slim to none..
