  1. I know! What were we thinking??? Just get to sorrowfully gaze at a scan of my old copy theses days. We'll get another copy one day. Maybe I'll get a copy of the Pyramid and a 'Dream my Heart' - Shirley Edwards also..
  2. I still don't think GTM sounds like Ben E. Too deep. Unless he was on a baritone tone tip in the early days. What year? Is on atco though, hmmm..
  3. A minute and thirty in for that familiar piano riff ...
  4. Yes I will, just don't tell the wife!
  5. I seem to remember you having the magic touch on your answering machine in the 80's Ade? So anyone phoning you back then would have got an earful! Great track then and now and as influential still with the nu-rave crowd picking it up as 'Simon Harris' - 'Your Smile'.
  6. Well I can remember dating this sort called Michella when I lived at the Grange and took her with me to the 100 one night. Can remember hearing GG played. Doubt it was later than 94 as I'd moved from the Grange by then. I'm sticking with 94, or earlier.
  7. Yeah think Gerri Granger was earlier than that 93/94 ish maybe.

Is the demo a lot rarer than issue for this?
  9. Yeah the Grapevine release was the same as Butch's acetate and yep he pitches it up, but it does sound better that way imo. Sold a Grapevine copy a few weeks back, less than £30 I think.

So Rob Marriott, Gasher, Bearsy, Dave Abbott, Butch ......
  15. Yep. Well said that man.
  16. Yep and this little ditty ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U-m8xOxAx4Y Rome wasn't built in a day on SAR Jaco
  17. I'd be interested to hear from Mark Sargeant, or Mick Cooper on this subject. I could understand to some degree a journo from a local wrag taking snaps, but soulies?
  18. With respect, what utter twaddle! In 30 years I've never known a promoter to ask attendees to refrain from taking pictures as some of the punters are precious! They should stay home and hide under the duvet if they are that nervous, give me strength!
  19. It's not the end of the world, but to my mind it's the music that draws me there. it's the music that makes me dance. I care not a fig if photos are taken and I'm in them or not. Only people who would be bothered to look at these kind of pics on the internet are our people. So a heavy-set follically challenged geezer is viewing pics of a heavy-set follically challenged geezer dancing - so what?! Much ado about nothing in my very honest..
  20. Unbelievable! I think these folk are in danger of disappearing up their own backsides with delusions of their own self importance! You're not Pete Doherty or Naomi Campbell, get a grip ffs!
  21. Got a mate that was asking who did the original version of Shine On as used in this (awful) remix version.. Any ideas?

Youngsters and or newcomers would get a slightly rose tinted view with most of the feedbacks we leave tis true. Partly due to the sentiments held by Chalky's Nan that we all/most have, but also (perhaps) the thinking of I'm not the kind of chump that would blow a load of dough and travel hundreds of miles for something that's crap - I know better etc.. That said we've all been to crap do's. The way to read between the lines with look backs is, where's there's 2+ pages of comments with everyone raving about it - it was probably good - verses 17 replies and "numbers were a bit down, but all the dj's gave a good account of themselves" = it was crap. Not just the written word either, it's a brave man or women that'll take a pic of three dancers on a massive floor - more that lot huddled in the corner - if any!
  23. Dayer would have to be St Ives where I heard the Pyramid for the first time. Never forget that. Nighter would have to be either the 100 Club, the one where they played Stewart Ames when I came back in when Shifty was still there. Or the Middleton with the Willinghams upstairs, which was my first nighter with our lass.
  24. Cheers Chalks.
  25. I've only ever been aware of the RCA issue take - unsure if below version was an album release or something?
