  1. Good posting Andy and fair points made. Whilst I think Wiggy was pretty spot on with your first reply on this thread Andy, I think it goes without saying we are all soul fans and love the music, no matter what. However dj's and promoters are extra special soul fans if you like. I look up to Ted Massey (amongst many others) as a collector and top dj and when I pay may £12 to get in and thirty quid in petrol, I know he won't let me down. In fact the opposite, I half expect to be wowed by the set and usually I am. There's the difference, if there's a facebook invite to a soulie's party in a pub, it's free to get in and they're playing music on any format, I don't really care. We pay, you play (ovo).
  2. Talking about your own mates there would assume?
  3. The original poster has been a member here for some years, which is more than you have. He is entitled to post his grievances and doesn't need to be referred to a small minded.
  4. Feck it, we're celebrating, come on down. We'll stand at the back and behave ourselves. Just left a voicemail with Ady to see if we can pay ont door..... Sorted.
  5. All being well, Blue Posts round the back of the 100 7pm.
  6. Been advised very few tickets left. Will leave till 4pm to see if I can get an answer on the paying on the door, past then, swerve.
  7. Trying to find out if you can pay on the door for this. Not having much joy though.
  8. Thanks Greg and welcome to Soul Source.
  9. Or another way still, crap at home and bollox in the main hall. Sorry never liked that one, think the intro is offal and downhill from there. On the subject generally of sounds better out than at home, yes a decent pa is always going to create a bigger sound and better atmos than pc speakers. That said, if a record is good, it's good and that's it. There are records I covet that I've never heard out, I can only imagine how great they'd sound.
  10. Done.
  11. It is Shifty. We'll have to share this thread to fb in the hope he can enlighten us..

  15. Rugby's not small. Not so much wide, but awfully long.
  16. Thanks mate and yeah as Phil has said, be really good to see you at Rugby and have a catch up. PM'ing you those contact details.
  17. Jim Trouble had one of these, you could try him. Couple of different versions, but he had the good one. Can I just say, great to hear from you Johnny!
  18. Yep doesn't surprise me lack of replies, bit of an obscurity. Think both of above came from same seller. Did well on 1st sale and not so on second. End of the day a record is worth what you are willing to pay and I'm willing to pay about a oner. Have just seen a semi recent Manship auction where this went for I think, £106. So think I am spot on with a oner here. Thanks to me for all my help with this.
  19. What would be a realistic current price for Wayne Boling - Girl I Like To dance With You - CAMPO ? 13-12-2011 - $400. M- 26--06-2012 - $106. M-
  20. And a $2k starting bid!
  21. Got an Italian copy not long back, great tune. Available on German pic cover & allsorts. AKA Lee Vanderbilt (RCA, 1976) and Bradford Dene his real name was Kenrick des Etages and he was born in 1935 in the USA but was based in the UK. He worked with Biddu, Jimmy James and Tina Charles and did a bit of session backing singing. As Ebony Keyes he had a small UK hit in the '60s, I think.
