  1. I got a free VG Brenda Holloway once thrown in coz I was whinging that the record I was buying was overpriced
  2. Yes very good Miss P. Had to wait til lunchtime today to listen at work as home pc is a little asthmatic, runs on gas! Nice tune, like the early stuff was talking to Nick Brown about early soul on Saturday, Eddie Day & the Four Bars etc. Have you heard a Roy Hamilton album track called 'Don't come crying to me' deserves a listen
  3. Heatache? Top Fingers, can't help thinking he's a bit of a soft touch bless him. When asking price for Della Reese he was almost told what was going to be paid for it - "that Della Reese, sixty quid yeah" After all that, Dave got it for £50. Jammy begger, I paid £70. Did Dave play it last night?
  4. Thats how much I paid you for it
  5. Luther - Don't Wanna Be A Fool (great record) Lee Bates - You Won't Do Right (Instant records well worth £25) June Conquest - Almost Persuaded wavy hair! Brilliant
  6. Furry muff, although it's rough out there's a bit of a biggie.
  7. How so? It's got everything, uptempo, fantastic vocal, great pacey dancer ??? Sure you didn't mean Garland Green?
  8. I understand Don't really think this is that much of a political hot potato as such and not really blaming any dj's per say. Although another vastly underplayed would be monster is Steve Aldo - You're Absolutely right - PARLAPHONE Evey time I ask Mick Smith to play it, he takes it out of his box and shows me as if to say "yeah, here you are", but never/rarely plays the bugger!
  9. I know what you mean Shrine. Don't know about tried and trusted oldies. Some 'newies' are instant and go massive. I'm talking about sounds that may have been perhaps overlooked to some degree, deserved better maybe
  10. Jerry Jackson - Are you glad when we're apart - COLUMBIA
  11. Just listened to Garland Green - Don't Let Love Walk Out On Us RCA 10889 1977 Great record, (£25 Shifty) Been £25 for 25 years! Well maybe not, but a long time. Vastly under rated and underplayed imo. What other records never really made it? Twice! Flop on general release and flop on the NS scene?
  12. Indeed Mr B Great choice. Spare a thought for the late great Roy Hamilton - You shook me up (RCA Victor) demo - Chalky £140 Very reasonable. Luton (nameless) few short months later £200 ebay same money! What did you pay for that back in the day £50? Pat Brady?
  13. Think mine's a styrene demo, but then a again I'm a bit hazy on the whole styrene, thing. tell me again what that constitues?
  14. "If you produced a tv program what music would you use" Anything but northern.
  15. Eye, B side not bad either (Love you always). Wonder what it goes for these days, anyone know?
  16. Wish they wouldn't    Ahh anyway, I'm off for some Kentucky Fried Chicken, then on to Manumission
  17. Sorry Mike, yeah forgot about that, think my cousin bought a dodgy cd from him now you come to mention it. I only used it to listen to some sounds occasionaly.
  18. That's a blow and KTF download as Reg said. Have you checked out [edited by site see below post]
  19. Not sure about that Shane, think it's down.
  20. My mate had a tape of a bootlegged different version of a Harold Melvin number - Bad Luck. This Version was called Bad F**K and featured a line about "swinging my di*k in the wind"! Silly funny
  21. Top tunes on those cd's. Couldn't agree more with that sentiment, thought same as I was writing my 'compilation sensation' thread. Goes without saying you'd be unlikely to hear so many back to back goodies at a do.
  22. That sucks mate. Postman once snapped a copy of The Valadiers - I found a girl. It was on Gordy not Oriel, but I was still miffed. On a brighter note, your cd went in the post this morning and should be with you soon. Chin up
