  1. Dear oh dear, don't like Jerry Jackson, don't like Soul Joe Clements, these are atmospheric charged dancers, it's sposed to be the modern stuff that's utter rubbish.
  2. Indeed, have antagonised you enough Mr Smith. Just low grade banter, nothing more. With a 'the only good modern record is etc..' signature is a bit of a statement on here and well you know as I do those seventies sounds that sound a bit sixties and so on. I wonder truly though how grey the area is between seventies northern soul and modern northern soul? Soul Joe Clements - Ever Ever (PLEXIUM) 1969. Now that's a lick just before the seventies but by golly there's no mistaking that for that modern rubbish. Big void between the best dancers, 6t's up tempo beat and seventies/modern shuffling nonsense.
  3. Well said
  4. 6.03am, the Rocket.
  5. "Music reserved for fried chicken adverts" Dear oh dear, just seen this. I knew there was something about those chicken ads that was unsettling /index.php?showtopic=4793
  6. Do you think there is a clear distinction between 70's and modern?
  7. So is it fair to say the Vanguards is your least hated modern track? As discussed in that other thread a week or so back, thinking it was late sixties promted a "yeah it's allright" response. We then found out it was early seventies.
  8. Victor Knight - China Town. Pure Popcorn. Anyone who has a copy they would consider parting with, please let me know.
  9. Ha ha, class "She ad lobsters up the arse, she was f***ing working cass" Peter Cook RIP.
  10. Indeed we were heading back to light heartedness. I definitely would not frown or discourage anyone from putting their point across, regardless of their spelling abilities. Anyway back to the light heartedness - bums!
  11. And good on 'im, he's right, there's no future in being too serious
  12. Check it Shane - bit of silliness from the girlies!
  13. When was that then, how long ago?
  14. You cheeky sod!
  15. Steady
  16. Yeah true. Although, would you ban them, really? Seriously though if you don't don't attach some seriousness to your spelling and continually post with howlers all over the place, the net result is, you end up looking a bit of a dick.
  17. I know people read a thread and feel compelled to add their take on it quite quickly and the inbuilt spell checker here maybe a little touch and go if you are not a pc whizz. What could be an idea if you are replying to a post, or starting a new topic, is to write and spell check it in Word or sim (first) at your leisure. Then cut and paste it to the forum.
  18. Good point, did download a couple of things but haven't tried to mp3 them as yet. Could be a snag if they are just links - save them to library as you say maybe.
  19. Indeed, real shame as stated in 'ktfdownload - the end' thread. As you say, thank god we downloaded the sounds we did, when we did. You know you can download from soulclub jukebox, .rm files convert to mp3 and your'e away. Is his name Sean? The ktf dude? Did send him an email expressing thanks. 50k + sounds, what a shame. Simsy.
  20. Question was "how many Northern Soul records there are? (in all it's genres)" Bearing in mind (on going) new discoveries, master tapes/acetates - in all genres ... How could we possibly ever know? Bexter 500 funniest
  21. In Paradise, played it to death, last year. Absolutely fantastic, have most of their stuff, but that's up there. Sod of a tune to get played at a do though.
  22. Not too sure of a name as such but this email address (ponyegg@gmail.com) is on the front page under the closure notice. Think your'e right, Mr Pony Egg deserves a vote of thanks.
  23. Yeah is a shame although (like you) I was a regular grazer and had nothing more to do with the site than that, it will be sorely missed. https://www.soulclub.org/ link as states does have some great tunes also, which are downloadable - if there is such a word!
  24. Hompage displays as follows 24/03/2005 I had hoped I wouldn't have to do this but after 2+ years I've decided to pull the plug on ktfdownload. It's been fun running the site but time and bandwidth are both in short supply and the site had become more popular than ever and not being updated as frequently as I had hoped. Additionally I was very aware of the nature of file swapping, even if you can't buy most of these tracks commercially anymore. Should anything have happened regarding the RIAA then I ran a very good chance of also losing my job. I'll pull the plug on the domain eventually, but will keep it redirecting people for the time being so that at least the search engines are able refresh their indexes. Thanks to all who have contributed from all the various lists. Keep The Faith
