  1. This is a good point, But when you see a Magician ( Keb Darge-Gethro from Wolves ) on the dance floor it all comes together they can make it flow....& it is a pleasure to watch......I can't coment on Suzi Cameron as I have never seen her dance..... Keep It Coming Jon Buck link
  2. I don't know any whispers first off. But do you know if the flipside of the issue is 'The light of day'?
  3. This a good thread, well done Jon. Is spinning a northern thing? I say this as we don't spin in the south anymore. This is somewhat of a generalisation, but I have noticed a decline in spinning and clapping over the past twenty years. Neither spinning nor clapping, or acrobatics make a good dancer. Its timing, beat and personal expression imo
  4. Trends - Not too old to cry (ABC) VIP'S - Strange little girl (CONGRESS) Della Reese - A clock that's got no hands (RCA) Bobby Hebb - You wanna change me (PHILLIPS) Roy Hamilton - Earthquake (EPIC) Joe Hinton - You gotta have love (BACK BEAT) B J Thomas - Baby cried (SCEPTER) Freddie Gorman - The day will come (MIRACLE) O'Jays - Whip it on me (IMPERIAL) Garland Green - Don't let love walk out on us (RCA)
  5. Sounds like one for my next CD mate. ps, Nobody know's the true meaning of the sscdt, they are a riddle wrapped inside an enigma!
  6. Misadventures at Mega Boob Manor! Not really. LOL
  7. Lynne Randell is an Aussie
  8. Freddie Houston's Soft Walking was originally an air wear Doc Martins esq ad for American sixties shoes. How about Spyder Turner - I can't make it anymore for Viagra
  9. Lenny 'Tony Blackburn' Gamble - I'll do anything.
  10. Larry Trider - Carbon Copy
  11. Also this guy was instrumental in booting Bobby Valentin - Use it b4 etc. Covered up as Rex Garvin + Lucky Charms and Robbie Lawson on the flip. LSC Records. (Loughborough Soul Club)
  12. Oops, may have just emailed four people at Fox with the link
  13. Ouch what more can you say
  14. There's dude's on here who'll tell you of hundreds of sounds they've let slip through their fingers. I prefer collecting rather than trading. Trading gives me the fear, as records I have parted with have always either gone massive, shot up in value, or both. Then the thing is which ones do you really miss cos they were good records, or are you just miffed as the price has rocketed? Keeping it to a few (as I say there's always loads) recent departures include; Rosebuds - Say you'll be mine (TOWER) Ringleaders - Baby what has happened to our love (M-PAC) Pat & the Blenders - Just because (FAST EDDIE) Futures - Part time party time (PIR) Ace Spectrum - Don't send nobody else (ATLANTIC) Most miffed about Pat & the Blenders as it's a good record. It was the one with the rare b side and, wait for this... I gave it away! Second has to be the Ringleaders cos I sold it for £15 just before it went huge. Others less bothered about, least of all the Rosebuds as it's w*nk imho. So if you swapped the Cairos for a bag of marbles, I wanna hear about it fools! Hey and maybe a few others eh?
  15. Jackie Wilson's Voice Box ... Yes. Welcome on board
  16. April 13th 1976 was a Tuesday, I was nine and new little of the ways of rare soul :graynone:
  17. So very true Chalk. Always been my fave group the Temps. Gotta hand it to the Tempests also produced some great stuff
  18. Swapped a copy of Let me be your boy - Wilson Pickett VERVE for the Valadiers - I found a girl GORDY. Postman managed to snap it forcing it through the letterbox. I say snap, more of a break on one side, so sellotape on the b side and A side still plays with only slight click on first few spins. So a happy ending story on this thread Plus I replaced the Wilson Pickett from Manship £25, which was nice
  19. Wrong side of town is the one that sounds like it was recorded in the 70's. I must confess to liking Phats & Small - Turn around. Sounds like a modern masterpiece IMO
  20. Manifesto I'd say. Think it's published by Bee Cool. Top mag
  21. Remember hearing the Pyramid at St Ives, blew me away. They played it a couple of times that night. I remember going through my dad's Brook Benton LP's the next day for a version or bizzare cover up scenario. Eventually got it on tape from Manship, then dare I say the dodgy Golden Eye pressing. Will get round to owning an original some day, some how
