  1. Cackin up? Freudian slip there John
  2. Yeah, can't be bothered to report them anymore, just delete them. Ebay never email on account detail. Being in sales it's a real irritant to see an inbound email and think I wonder if that's a deal conf, only to find out it's those daft b#stards

    Madness

This is a bit like Eden Kane - A new kind of loving on Decca. I like (and have)both, have to say. Although I was happy with the tenner Stardust thing for LT, wouldn't pay big money.
  4. Can understand Earthquake not being everyone's cuppa tea. It is early, but I like that sort of stuff. Paid £90 for a demo, 'clicks' were so bad, had to get a refund and paid £125 for the yellow Epic issue. I'll save you posting "£125 for that turd" or sim. Never heard it played out. However You shook me up is a power house, it has balls equivalent to that of Gene Toones, or Soul Joe Clements (another record you hate if memory serves) imo.
  5. Oh yes he can. Chuck Jackson is great, no doubt about that. Was dancing to the alternate 'hand it over' last night, fantastic. Roy the boy on the other hand, as good if not ahead by a nose imo. Earthquake is great, managed to pick up an Epic issue of this from Manship. Also you shook me up demo from Andy D - brilliant record. As is Reach out for me, Crackin' up, Panic is on, Don't come crying to me and I also like the latin-esq 'She makes me wanna dance.

  7. Wow! Hats off to you Ian, what an admirable post.
  8. Marvin Gaye, David Ruffin or Edwin Starr. Nice selection was interested to know. Marvin #1 best selling male artist on Motown. David Ruffin, lead of best selling male group on Motown. Edwin ... say no more
  9. "And whenever I lay me down to sleep I pray the lord your soul to keep and bring it on home safe to me now" Whoss not to like? Fab intro, catchy lyrics, as Pete-S said brilliant as a northern soul record. One more thing, (validating) member russ winstanley1 - his fave record. Let's wait and see what he's got to say.
  10. Liking your opinion Mikey
  11. Andy, how you can say that mate, I just don't know. I would rate Jackie in the top three soul singers of all time along with Otis and Sam Cooke. Maybe Solomon Burke in Fourth. Just quality vocal, showman, dancer - he had it all and was a pioneer. Would be interested to hear your top three, if you have faves that is.
  12. I didn't think it fell flat Dan. I thought it was hilarious!

  14. "Fifteen years after Ronnie McNeir released his 'Love Suspect' album on Expansion Records (1987), we comemorate the Detroit soul legend¹s new status as official new member of The Four Tops. Since the passing of Lawrence Payton, Ronnie McNeir has performed internationally with the Tops adding his own magic to the veteran soul group". ?
  15. Who was the guy who replaced Lawrence Payton in the Four Tops? Did he have something to do with that film? Or am I on the wrong track?
  16. Second (one of the greatest)
  17. Mind if I sneak in with Holland Dozier Holland early doors, cheers Well someone was going to!
  18. Bit harsh Jon, Jackie had a fantastic voice, been around since mid fifties, Elvis loved him & so did I.
  19. Who was it that said "spinning is easy, it's the stopping thats hard". One of those TV docs screened last year?
  20. No!!!!!!!!!! Lady in Green? Magnetics? Bonnie? Isn't it? Marvellous
  21. Yeah, his name was Bruce RIP. Wakefield was the nighter - different strength gear from week to week. Sad but true
