On the way in this morning I was listening to Ruby Andrews - Just loving you and she definitely does sing "such a tit head" towards the end of the song, no question. In Cookie Jackson's - Do you still love me, she does say "Ian Sims" during the song. And my mate thinks that Lonzine Cannon number is all about drugs as he says "you call me and asked me for an eighth".
All right that last one was a joke, but there are some unfathomable lyrics that have taken years to work out what they are singing about and some I'm still not sure about. Here's a couple that were unwrapped years ago, but it took years to figure them out ... "look before you leap and count, count your blessings instead of sheep". Another was, "Give up you silly fool give up, that's what my friends tell me to do.
If anyone knows what the Cairo's were on about; "every day when she walks by, I give her my biggest smile, but it's always in vain and I see it ????"
Are there any soul songs you know with strange indecipherable lyrics? Or are there any we can help you with maybe?
