  1. Jon Anderson.
  2. Rubber stamped dignity for Grapevine then, the guru will be pleased. STARDUST
  3. Now wait just a cotton pickin minute The question is what level (if any) of shame is there attached to actually owning pressings/boots etc these days? Show me where that question has been asked before.
  4. Anyway, without getting carried away with Grapevine. It's going to be interesting to see how many proud owners of pressings are bold enough to admit to their ownership Come on lepers Ahhg, I've trodden in something, tut, it's a pressing
  5. Only one one Grapevine?
  6. How many DJ's would play a Grapevine record at a do that had (say) more than 100 people in attendance that had paid £5 or more to get in?
  7. no hang on a minute
  8. Doesn't really matter that much does it? Difference between a pressing or a boot. Pressing/Re-issue :graynone:
  9. For sure, don't mind a bit of 'vinyl nit picking'. So it's over to you dude for the concise definition of the following; Pressing ... Re issue ... Bootleg ... Acetate ... Promo ... Demo ... Original ...
  10. Does seem that even owning a few pressings/boots these days can mean you're a bit of a soulful leper. All agreed originals played at credible do's, or where the door tax is in excess of four quid perhaps. And when collecting, original vinyl is what we strive for, or otherwise you end up with a collection full of crap. But just reached to the back and pulled out a bunch of so called old crap and what beautiful old crap it is. I ain't parting with any of em, not ashamed of any ot them, had them year's and a 45 - 7" pressing still has more honesty and dignity to me than an mp3 (imvho). Sunday pm boot clutch spins; Frank Dell - He broke your game wide open - VALISE Soul Twins - Quick change artist - GRAPEVINE Sam Williams - Love slipped through my fingers - GRAPEVINE Sam & Kitty - I've got something good - FOUR BROTHERS Eddie & Ernie - I can't do it - EASTERN Cashmeres - Showstopper - SOUL CITY Johnny Caswell - You don't love me anymore - KENT Betty Wright - Shoo-Rah! Shoo-Rah! - RCA Harold Melvin & The Bluenotes - Get out (and let me cry) - ROUTE Jerry Williams - If you ask me (Because I love you) - PYE Tamangoes - I really love you - (GRAPEVINE) Dean Courtney/Carstairs - I'll always need you/ It really hurts me girl - FOX RECORDS B J Thomas - I don't have a mind of my own - PACEMAKER
  11. That's all fine and dandy. But you lost me at the start there. Woss with the "no not really"?
  12. Ha ha, we really are going to discuss this topic yet again, what a larf. Erm without searching back, wasn't it; serious original label owning collector/dj acceptable and credible at a do? Or reissues opening the door to brother chancer and his wannabe mates
  13. And that warranted a new thread? Could have asked that question on the other one mate to be honest, Was going good. Think things like Vanguards, Nolan Porter etc ensure that there is a flavour of something different without losing the northern-ness. Question man in the street - what do you call mid to late seventies American black music? Anwer; disco!
  14. Now I'm confuesed is this the stand up, or sit down thread? Sure I was gonna find Gail Adams here Rach
  15. 90% of all modern tracks.
  16. Where are two of your's?
  17. Thread started the other day (Cover?) about insurance cover for lost or stolen records. Not exactly a 'hot topic' though
  18. Stone me Jim Branning back again Paul? Ring the Changes #1 Deadbeats - No second chance # 2 - BT#3.
  19. Paradox p*sses on all of the above
  20. I've got the Mystic Moods, it's not very good. Baltimore Ohio thing better. Vesta curry for breakfast is that a regular thing
  21. I was listening to The Showmen - You are my everything on the way home tonight. Weird bit three parts of the way through, G Johnson's goin on about "your'e my lover, your'e my doctor" etc (whatever it is) and there's this involuntary shout from one of the band Deffo sounds like it shouldn't be there, well weird
  22. Gloater! You don't even like it!
  23. I know insurance is about as interesting as whale shit, but asked geordie johnson about the serious effects of losing a sh*t load of records. I wonder how many members/collectors/dj's have full documentation with pic's & valuations. I'm thinking you could count em on the fingers of one finger!
