That was definitely a flag. As was when I called him and he mysteriously couldn’t take my call. Moreover no mention of postage costs at any stage, which makes sense as it’s never going to be sent. His Facebook page told a story, exactly the same as the last scammer, a few YouTube soul related clips with zero likes or comments. A profile picture updated the day before and scrolling down, no real depth of history on the page. This is the blueprint of a scammer and makes them fairy easy to spot. One thing that would make life easier is if people wouldn’t just accept friend requests from these random wrongun chancers.

Exactly right, I didn’t notice it at first. On closer inspection, mentioned on VV (Vinyl Vigilante FB page) Brass neck of these chancers!

Following on from the recent wave of scammers, I was moaning to my wife there should be tighter regulations on joining some of these Wants groups on social media. I said to my Mrs “what are some questions that only proper NS scene people would know”? Her reply; “There’s a Soul Source thread there”. Here’s a few we came up with. Bit of fun. All suggestions/questions welcome. 1. Why is Johnny Fingers called Johnny Fingers? 2. Is it acceptable at a venue to abruptly end a conversation and take to the dance floor? 3. Name 3 iconic nighter venues of the 1970’s. 4. What is Soul Sam’s real name? 5. Name three of the rarest soul 45’s of all time. Toughie as these slippery chancers could probably still answer some of those from digging around on line. So let’s hear some questions that only we would know!

That’s a good idea. Although it’s clear to us what his game is, I wonder if it’s sufficient evidence for the likes of PayPal?

Tony’s manager posting his obituary details..

We had the pleasure of meeting Tony in New York a few years back, we went to see him perform with his trio and they were great. After the performance we were chatting and I told him he had helped my marriage, as when me and our lass were courting, I’d sing Paris Blues in the shower to woo her lol. “Paris Blues, follow me each place I go”.. He seemed momentarily taken aback by my impromptu outburst, but smiled and I think he knew we held him in high esteem. What a guy and what a true soul giant he was.

Just seen the sad news posted by his manager. What a great soul talent. He will be missed. R.I.P Tony.

I reckon he is in Keighley. Bearing in mind his email westfieldbeds@gmail.com gov.uk lists the company hq in Keighley with a Czech Director. My mate Steve lives there and was gonna pop in and ask if Tom or Stan were about, lol.
