I think of oldies like seven days too long, snake, out on the floor etc. These are oldies. But what about good records that have perhaps fallen from grace, or are no longer in vogue etc? Cleveland Robinson - Love is a trap, Trickbag by the Excuses and Charles Sheffield - It's your voodoo working, for example.
I understand that records can't be played to death and everything has kind of a shelf life, but surely this doesn't mean they shouldn't be played anymore does it? I'm all for upfront new discoveries and keeping it fresh etc, but when was the last time anyone heard Cleveland Robinson out? There are loads of biggies from recent years that just don't get plays anymore. Why?
