  1. Keni Lewis - What's Her Name
  2. 1984/5 Got a bus to London Victoria, then a coach on to Leicester for the Odfellows nighter. However when we got there it had been cancelled
  3. Yeah colds are one thing, respiration etc is a bit serious though. Don't think anyone's going to be able to top Jo Wallace's car accident on the way to wigan story. "Do you want to go to hospital"? "No I want to go to Wigan"!
  4. Talking of Lourdes, I feel the 100 Club has the same healing powers. As previously stated, been there with a stinking cold, but the music, the atmosphere and the dancing etc burnt through those symptoms and I came out in the morning feeling much better.
  5. I have had to re jig Mother's Day and some family birthday's on occasion in order to make my fave nighter in the past. Once sold my Megadrive (remember them) and all it's games to finance a nighter when I was skint. I've been struck down with flu before, but loaded myself up with Day Nurse, Red Bull etc and still gone. Once saw Trickster at a nighter, on crutches with his leg in plaster! I wonder what tales there are from folk putting their soul nights and nighters first? What lengths do people go to? Ever kept a Sunday lunch date off the back of an all nighter? What porkies have family and friends been told in order for you to keep that date in the soul calendar?
  6. Agreed. Have the Jimmy James - New Religion LP with his version, vocal not in same league as Tempests. My Tempests top 3 would be; 1. I cried for you 2. Someday 3.What you gonna do
  7. yo mama told me cheeky cow! You leave my mother out of this. Chancer.
  8. Boogaloo (shing-a-ling, popcorn music) is a genre of Latin music and dance that was very popular in the United States in the late 1960s. Boogaloo originated in New York City among teenage Cubans and Puerto Ricans. The style was a fusion of popular African American R&B, rock and roll and soul with mambo and son montuno. Boogaloo entered the mainstream through the American Bandstand television program.
  9. Not just northern soul, mind. But 'Monster Northern Soul"!!! Unbelievable! Dunno if you've asked the seller a question? I did, couldn't help meself. "Why on earth would you think this record has anything to do with northern soul"?

  15. https://www.newcenturysoul.co.uk Good site for many reasons, I do like the events vids. Soul girl's https://soulgirl.kicks-ass.org/andromeda1.php is a goodie for choons although do experience some loading probs which is a shame And Chalky & Flynny's Soul Talk (www.raresoulforum.co.uk) is a decent site for exchanging views etc.
  16. More acrobatic than me, but he get's my vote Chris 'Trickster' Harvey. Oh and Keb Darge no slouch of course.
  17. Kell Osborne - Quicksand (TITANIC) had it in my hand recently £400. Not a bad price as I've seen it for quite a bit more, but I was still about for hundred quid shy of the asking price on that occasion. Top top tune Have you heard Wishing Well?
  18. $574 Ebay. Hope this helps
  19. I don't like to lose. Because, I don't like to lose.
  20. Saw him at the 100 mate, fantastic!
  21. Same as you mate, not been to a weekender before, but Cleethorpes next year, deffo for quality sounds etc
  22. If Northern Soul didn't exist, it would be necessary to invent it
  23. Must admit the thought of hearing Nolan Porter perform "If I could only be sure" at Prestatyn is tempting. Ray Pollard (RIP) performance at the 100 club was magic that I will never forget.
