  1. True, but the Dome in it's day was something else - packed, went on til 3. They don't make em like that anymore
  2. Oi, soul nites few and far between round these parts these days, next TOTS not til June or sommat. Plinston ... I'm regular as clockwork mate, but that's another story
  3. Allnighters are great but I generally don't feel right until about Wednesday. As for going to nighters on your own, I think that's a good thing, but be mindful of the 'Brett Syndrome' what did he say about 'soulies who annoy' ....
  4. Indeed and were this a 'boogie' forum. I'd be reet pleased. Each to his (or her) own I guess.
  5. Do you remeber that bloke in the Whistle Test documentary? "Get meself down to Euston or Kings Cross" "maybe a dayer, then a nighter, followed by a dayer" ... Steady!
  6. Wondered which folk prefer. Pro's and con's for both I spose. With the soul night you get 'a life' the next day. But is there anything to touch a great allnighter though? I know you hardcore dudes are gonna say both with whistles etc and furry muff. But overall, I'd be interested to know who has a preference. Also, this doesn't warrant a separate thread, but who do you go to soul do's with? Always the same people? Different people? Yer bezzy mate? Bird? Jack?
  7. Think in general NS is still an underground scene. Big difference between the chicken eating cd listeners and you and me for example. Though those chicken zinger ringer stinger thingys are the bomb!
  8. Sorry. Not very soulful
  9. There's some Lou Johnson stuff on London. Seen that 'Wouldn't that be something' B side of 'Always something there to remind me' in Lists. Have a demo of this. Not bad, but the kettle drum's a killer.
  10. You didn't per chance see a playlist from Quinvy whilst you were there did you? Think he's still yet to post. Also think (apart from a couple of don't care'ers) he's the only person who doesn't want to see playlists posted after a do.
  11. Regardless of your taste or records, you had no hesitation in posting a playlist which proves confidence in your set.
  12. Reading through this thread it seems most are interested in seeing a playlist. If you are unwilling to post a playlist, you've something to hide. Crap records/taste for instance.
  13. DANGER DAWN In the habit of hurting ...
  14. Dawn the Destroyer
  15. Wow, red issue. Try getting a scan of that fecker!
  16. Couple of weeks back - daughter's party at Chicago's, played The Fascinations - Girls are out to get you.
  17. Soul Brothers Inc - Pyramid Best record ever made. Reminds me of St Ive's alldayers. Magnificent Men - All your lovin's gone to my head A record I loved and played to death - bought from Dave Evison Mello Souls - We can make it Has every ingredient to be (and is) a fantastic track Roy Hamilton - Crackin' up Soul music with balls. Nuff said. Timi Yuro - It'll never be over for me Emotional building dancer
  18. What if you use a jack plug from the headphone socket to line in? Does this effect the sound quality in reproduction would you say? /index.p...md=si&img=11653
  19. If you won't tell us you name. Tell us the whole story . If you're going to start a thread about it, what was the series of events that lead up to this? I refuse to believe a promoter broke someones's jaw for no reason ...
  20. Uncommon behavior for a promoter to beat the clientele.
  21. Doesn't even mention the label. Prob one of those pap lookalikes.
  22. Where is he now I wonder? Nige on the other hand, dancing in pretty much the same spot last Saturday ...
