  1. Nb this (apparently) is a different Del Larks to the Job Opening lot ...
  2. No only original Scepter 45 has the different ending. Ere Chalk, dunno anyone with a full clip of this do ya? - The Del Larks - Out Of The In Crowd - Jet 101. 3/4 of clip ..
  3. stop it
  4. Nice to see this term used for something other than 70's. Or were you talking about 70's gospel crossover Stu? Wait, now I'm confused ..
  5. Rather good viewing, what.
  6. Scandalous! Good luck.
  7. Thanks Ted that's fantastic!
  8. dunc Apr 5 2005 09.39pm The reason why there is no wailing on the cd's and pressings is that they were taken from the master tapes from Wand/Scepter which were obtained by someone from the Uk in the Eighties and recorded onto acetates and compilations. The original Scpeter 45's obviously wail over the horns section near the end (you have answered my question) ALSO: thanks evil bay!!!!!!!!
  9. Yeah that's the boot version/LP/CD. JD link I posted (#2 ) is different, especially towards the end, more wailing etc.

  11. /index.p...cmd=si&img=9124 This is the one from Joe Dunlop's sales list. Just cut's off when it's getting good.
  12. Has anyone got a full length Stepping out of the picture - Johnny Maestro mp3 wav or whatever? I'm after the original Sceptre recording - not the boot, or the cd or the album version? Any help greatly appreciated.
  13. Not seen that before. Fantastic.
  14. Wonder what Angelo's singing's like? Think Roger Hatcher, was Edwin's cousin. Sounds like a good night.
  15. I dunno Geordie. Over a thousand dollars for a boot? He must have known something about rare soul records to be bidding in the first place. There is a host of tell tell signs and if that wasn't enough the seller said "we're not sure if it's an original" and the guy still paid over a grand and you don't think that's dumb? Okay, I mean I feel sorry for the bloke, how's naive sound ...?
  16. Auction expired last night mate. Buyer could not be contacted, we tried. Poor dumb bast*rd...
  17. Less deadwax on black one.
  18. The vinyl is so shiny and new looking on the ebay one, you can see the reflection of the geezers shirt in it. And he has bad nails.
  19. Keep waiting for Taylor Hicks to do a Ray Charles number.
  20. Back in the day US Army parkas were the only choice, unless you were a 'Brutus boy', which was nowhere man! If you had one of the shoulder epaulet thingys unbottoned on your parka, this meant 'northern soul'! I notice a good many bods (man in street - non soul fan) wearing parkas these days. Some of them come with patches already on it would seem. Not northern, but Vespa or sim. Some Brutus alike and others more authentic, like the one my boss wears, which is a bit of a worry.
  21. No worries mate. Think Dave has spent his time wisely. Need to start keying records into a database again. Maybe pan camcorder over them also for insurance purposes.
  22. Well Pat, I was bidding on a G copy of Garland Green - Girl I love you ... But somone stealthed in and beat me to it ... Sir Edmund Slackbladder! https://offer.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...item=4848239017
  23. --> QUOTE(mark.b @ Mar 13 2006, 06:23 PM) link my favoutite is not a sound effect but at the end of hit and rub loleta holloway on the 12" after itsend at 11 and a half minutes some one says right now lets do the album version. mark As previously mentioned. 24. I see a pattern forming here Mr Taylormadetroublemaker. I suggest you close this thread. Better still ask for it to be deleted.
