  1. Can you remember anymore lines Geoff? Wasn't Linda Griner was it? Goodbye cruel love.
  2. Yeah erm, many fine female soul singers out there, not sure Martha has ever been one of them. Saw her on the swons doc and she was terrible, I mean really awful. Sorry, sad but true.
  3. I know it says fave sixties, but hey it's from the right era and it still sounds sixties imo.
  4. Great year 62! Whoa there Simsy, getting carried away! Go to bed!
  5. 1962 Love some of these early numbers. Takes up the slack for some of those awful modern tunes! How many Showmen tunes pre 63' I wonder ...? Great thread.
  6. As you were, 62'.
  7. Yeah only other one one I've seen went for about £170. But that was May last year and it wasn't a picture cover. BTW anyone know what year this Roy H ditty is? Early I think 57'?
  8. Not paid for it yet. Could be why I left without it £225.
  9. 1962 I think. The Driveller has one. Pained me to leave the last 100 Club without it.
  10. There are Soul Source backing singers?
  11. Was thinking more of Rocket situ to be fair. Though there are no shortage of live cd's from wigan, complete with crowd noise etc.
  12. Through the decks indeed. You would still have the dj announcing tracks etc so still maybe personal entertainment purposes...
  13. Assuming you have permission of course.
  14. Still fond of this
  15. Have you seen this?

  17. How many people could that apply to on here I wonder? Me included! I wasn't at an age to care when DG was penning his columns. Though I know people are gauged by their overall contribution. I admire him for coining the phrase. I admire him for forming the UK Tamla Motown Appreciation Society. And I admired him for things like meetings with Berry Gordy that Diana Ross wasn't privy to. A flowery yawn-worthy writer, but a leg end all the same? And Esperanto! What the fcuk's that all about?
  18. 50p from Oxfam in Surbiton. https://www.soulclub.org/stream/Ann_D'A...Lookin'.ram
  19. They were a bit spesh imo, Ruffin vocal - my girl ... the way you do the things etc. The dancing. Biggest selling male group at Motown - they had it all.
  20. Or there's always good old VHS; https://cgi.ebay.co.uk/THE-FIVE-HEARTBEATS-...1QQcmdZViewItem
  21. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0101891/ Shouldn't be a problem, Smudge knows a way of sorting that region thing on dvd players, so they'll play any.
  22. Nah, I saw this on vid and it is a really good watch. Try Amazon worth buying blind.
  23. Yes, very upsetting. Though it all turns out okay in the end.
