  1. Slightly off topic. But spinning a few sounds whilst waiting for this and a cover has gone missing. Why ??? And where the fcuk has it gone?
  2. Okay, chill winston. We're still grateful btw. Did we mention that ..
  3. And soul scene superstar Billy Whizz. Crazy eyes looking skyward, spinning in slow mo'. 53 and still doing it every week. What a guy. Where's part 3 then?
  4. Now steady on chaps. How else will we believe we're good dancers!
  5. Thats not true and you know it.
  6. Well I think it warrants the price tag. Crackin' tune and underplayed these days imo.
  7. Are we talking demos or issues now? I'm confused.
  8. Wow £370! Thats excessive. I've seen a few around the £150 mark. But again dependant on condition, why I said 150+
  9. Always said Pete-S was a significant contributor to this site. For reasons just like this.
  10. Yeah would have said around £150+ dependant on condition. Top tune - big mod sound. And my alias at work!
  11. How about zero tolerance to ego of any kind. Might be a good thing for some poor souls ..
  12. Think most of my records are by geezers. That said if female vocal was not allowed, would only seem half as good.
  13. Well he wont get that here. He's not coming back.
  14. I was expecting that H And its every 4 weeks ..
  15. Ban Modern. not really .. How about make all venues within a 50 mile radius of my house .. Well you never said they had to be reallistic.
  16. Have a look at Dave Rimmers site for the JW discography. https://www.soulfulkindamusic.net/jwilson.htm
  17. One of my northern faves by him would have to be 'I'm the one to do it'.
  18. Simon Soussan, was responsible for creating "tailor-made' northern soul sounds, as well as making acetates of unknown soul 45's BUT creating "fake" group names to retain exclusivity. Soussan also got the rights to the Mirwood catalogue and Sydney Barnes/J.J. Jackson's songwriting catalogue, so he took it upon himself to "rewrite" Northern soul obscurities, and making them into disco hits! "Stronger Than Her Love" by the Flirtations became "Love and Desire" by Arpeggio (with Sydney Barnes). "My Dear Heart" by Shawn Robinson turned into "After Dark"by Patti Brooks.. He had the last laugh when some of his background singers cut a disco medley ("Uptown Festival") under the name Shalamar, and it became a big hit. I think he got most of the money made off of all of Shalamar's hits. https://bomplist.xnet2.com/0104/msg01366.html
  19. Oh my, Godz has been possessed by Simon Soussan
  20. Agreed. Also torn on 'I'll keep on holding on'. Soulful sound of the Marvelettes v Raw mod energy of the Action.
  21. I'm reading down this thread and can't believe no one has mentioned (until post # 15) a key point about this record. Well done Chalky. They need'nt have bothered.
  22. Fantastic to see this footage. For a moment I was transported back to 1985. Driving along in the old Supermirafiori, with Kirsti an Caroline singing along ...
  23. Shirley Ellis - The Name Game
  24. He was blown away and so were we. His voice sounded just brilliant that night and we were whooping with delight like silly school kids. Unforgettably brilliant.
