If he'd tried some 60's esq numbers with maybe the Angelo Starr chap.. Stabbing horns, backing singers, a few (real) instruments .. Could have been interesting. As is - cheap tacky crap.

Very true! Can remember going into the little DJ cave and asking Greg if he'd play his Vivian Carol and him (phones on) saying "yeah, dig it out it's in there' ... Happy days.

YouTube is great, no question ... However my only criticism would be "THIS VIDEO IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE" ... Happens all too often. Tiresome, depressing and dissapointing ...

Nice arrangement of a catchy tune imo. His vocal does let it down a bit. A bit weak compared with the justice a true soul voice would do it.

Can you not download the link and listen to it in Real Player? I think 'The Wrong Side Of Town' proves IL can make northern soul these days. But the kind of soul fans I know don't like being told what to like. They like to discover a track by the Volumes (for example)where originality, 40 years and three thousand miles separates them. Difficult to arrive at the same credibilty level with this bloke dancing next to me at the Rocket ...
