For me the NS scene revolves around NS badged watches, NS mugs, NS tea sets, baggies, beer towels, embroidered badges ...........
....the music, how does that fit in ??
By all accounts the Crystal Bowl (which housed the Tin Chicken) was built on top of the Roman part of Cas.
Info here .... 1960s - Redevelopment in Albion Street/Carlton Street, Castleford >>
Substantial redevelopment started in 1963 and included a new bus station and the bowling alley, Crystal Bowl. Suddenly Roman finds were being found in large numbers, and the importance of Castleford’s Roman past began to be recognised. For the first time professional archaeologists were involved in Castleford. Staff from the Royal Commission on Historical Monuments office at York watched the work, but were not able to do detailed recording. Library staff did sterling work rescuing objects from the builders’ spoil heaps

If you are anywhere near New York on Sunday August 11th (that's this Sunday) .........
you should pop along to this show in Damrosch Park (next to 63rd St & Broadway -- between Central Pk & the Hudson River) ......

A few really good acts are on plus the Holland Brothers will be chatting about their music and even singing a few of their old songs.
I also believe McKinley Jackson will be playing the piano on their part of the show.
HOPE THE PROCEEDINGS GET CAUGHT ON VIDEO !!!
You would think that with a backing outfit who were called the Kintwetts, if there was anything on-line about them it would be easy to find.
I can't find anything, so it can't be out there to find.
Bob ..... is Billy credited with writing the song on the Debrossard 45's label ?
I guess so seeing as he produced the Cleveland cut tracks & is down as having written "Take My Love"
A trailer for the documentary (seems it's about 4/5 years old) ......
Think I'll go along and ask them about sampling & paying for the original tracks that the guys lift !!

Mind you, there's also a tour of the Mini plant that kicks off at 6pm that Thursday at the other end of town & I think I'd enjoy that more.
Think I'll be visiting the BBC's Oxford TV / radio studio earlier in the day too.
As part of the Oxford Open Doors Weekend .....

So if P&P added to arrive at final ebay fee, it means it will be cheaper to sell to someone in same country than to someone abroad.
Probably lead more dealers to impose 'only sell to US based customers' / 'only sell to UK based customers' type conditions.
Cleveland / Florida / Jamaica based Jerri Jones (a twist here as she was a woman who dressed as a man) ....
..... Jerry / Jerri was close friends with Kim Tolliver, so I wonder if Jerri also 'hooked up' with Billy Wells down in Florida ?
I think you may be wrong there Bob.
There's a Canadian web site that I recently visited (though I can't find it today) that had loads of info on the 60's Toronto music scene.
Up on that was a photo of Jackie on stage and he's fully rigged out in womens clothes (with that 'Diana Ross type glamorous' look).
You're not trying to suggest Jackie dressed strangely are you ?????????
......... can't believe that at all & he looks normal here (surely) ...........

I believe that Canadian TV broadcast a documentary show on him & his career around 3 years back -- 'I Got Mine: The Story Of Jackie Shane'
....... you are supposed to be able to view it here ......

...but it woun't play for me .......anyone here get to see it ?
Sounds good to me, has an really great old skool feel to it (due to the traditional instruments used on the backing).
Wish you every success,
Gwen is a great lady & so her family members are no doubt too (is Gwen still working with the Holland Bros BTW ?).
These two have some other brothers, all now around 65 to 75 years old I believe.
Their uncle was Robert Bateman (of early Motown fame).
I think Greg is older than Jeff & he (Greg) started recording as a solo act in 1967.
As far as I know, Jeff & Greg are still around.
