......... AND ... you could pick up copies of the album in the UK back then for pence (Yanks, Mancaster I think).
An 'Andy Whitmore' discovery if I'm not mistaken. Seem to recall Andy doing an article on Leslie in a soul fanzine back then.
I'm sure it didn't escape on Playboy, Osiris or Columbia (his US labels from 74 to 78) ......
..... AND I SHOULD KNOW WHAT HE WAS UP TO, after all I was his producer & arranger ........
Has sold for as much as $1600, $1700 & $2000, but that's the BOBBY (wil)BURN version of the 45 on Chant.
Doesn't it originate from the Atlanta area (so no Philly Soul connection at all).
Thought I'd resurrect this thread as I have more interesting show ads to put up ............
I wonder if the Swordsmen were still part of her live 'company' at this time (early 70) ..........
Another soulful female on the NY club scene ...........
The above IS Jimmy Wisner, back in his Buffalo days. It was his record label too.
Another from him (but the vocals on this make it a lot more MOR) .........
There was a 2nd pressing of the earlier version of this US hit 45. I think that later version of the Roulette 45 label appeared initially around #4520 (& the Essex 45 was #4515).
Guess the 2nd press is worth as much as the 1st press as it must have followed the 1st by just a few weeks (but the reissue would be worth less) .....
Hard to beat this dancer though .......... a MS anthem .............
............ AND ........ Phil Perry (as a solo artist) has made 100's of gems !!
Phil ..... all by imsen ............... love don't love nobody ............
One of Keni's MS anthems .............. don't get no betta than this ...............
Invisible Mans Band ..............
I remember when you could pick up copies of their albums in Yanks, Manchester for 49p (sometimes even less ) !!
