  1. Too late for that Foxes record now Have just made my account active with My jbidwatcher, sure it'll be fine in future. Cheer ears Aid.
  2. Okay Pete, cheers Get it now, the software i use will be fine for that, just wasn't using Jbidwatcher severs to do my bidding for me, was just leaving my computer on, which like you say, no need. Ai.d
  3. Ah, right Pete, so if I actually sign into to the software sever & upload my bids, it will be done by proxy?? Now I get it, I just left my computer on and left the auction running, clearly this is hit & miss. There's where I went wrong, save som leecky too! Aid.
  4. I use jBidwatcher third party software for the mac, works fine when computer not asleep, don't want to place any bids til 2 seconds before the auction ends. Aid.
  5. Just a precautionary tale for any other 3.am snipers, don't forget to disable the computers sleep, for future reference, I overlooked this on my Mac & it has probably cost my one vg+ copy of The Foxes Mighty Good Sign on Fencoe, that went for an unbelievable $36, I am proper gutted. Aid.
  6. Hey Chalky, did you get that Fame Studio Story directly from Fame in Muscle Shoals on ebay? I was looking at some of their stuff for sale, they are flogging a mint James Barnett Keep on Talking issue on ebay at the moment, pity is not a WLP! Aid.
  7. Will be checking that out. What a diverse & brilliant guitarist, bet he has got tons to tell, surprised to see he played on velvet undergrounds Femme Fatalle & was courted by the Beatles, I always just associated him as a southern Stax boy, should be good this.
  8. Okay, this is my last go at this thread & I've had more than my fair share, but I've just got home & I've been thinking about this question all night so here goes Fred Lowrey Can't Get Enough Of My Baby's Love. Bobby Hutton Come See What's Left Of Me Phontics Don't Let Love Get You Down. Jimmy Gildford Don't Let Me Loose. Jack Montgomery Don't Turn Your Back On Me. Aid.
  9. Another one I like Blendels Did You Mean. Pure soulful heartache.
  10. Volumes Ain't gonna give you up. The tortured vocal is fabulous. Aid
  11. Fair point Bob, it just the opening vocal that grabs me, that's soulful IMO. Aid
  12. Anyone else heard this currently being played on Sky 1 to advertise the new season Simpsons? Someone at Sky got great taste in music. Aid
  13. I went to an Wigan a few times, on the back of a scooter, it was on my mates, Russ from Warrington's Phase 2 (RIP Russ). I was just into soul those days, but went on it for fun as we just got the train every week usually. Got to say I went the the all-nighters every week & it wasn't a wash with scooters, not until that whole second phase kicked off, which was really at end days of Wigan, you'd just see the odd few parked up outside down a bit from the cinema, remember chatting with some lads from Stockport Mod Squad once, also some lads From a Birkenhead Club, one called Robbie, who were all very friendly with the Warrington SC. Also went to Scarborough in 79 too, tons of trouble there, his scooter was a cut down racer & had a Delorto carb, think it was an LI 150, not the most comfortable on the back, but it was super rapid. A lot of the lads who were into scooters were into soul anyway, but loads were just into fashion & football (& rugby league) violence in those days in Warrington, that's how it was as strange as it sounds. Aid.
  14. Got me thinking now. Bull, Bygones on Bell, takes some beating that one, especially the starting opening vocal .
  15. If we are talking generic soulful sound, then I'd put in mine as Rance Allen Group 'Showdown' from Stax. Little bit gospelly I suppose, but you can actually 'feel' the soulful emotions in the song, always liked this one. Aid.
  16. Should at to above post, don't know which came first??
  17. I prefer Ty Karim's 'Lighten Up' over Larry Atkins, any day of the week. Larry Atkins version is just so lifeless, imo. Aid.
  18. He he, very happy not to have found that one Funny thing though & it's very noticeable, a lot of the old girls from Detroit still kickin around.
  19. This sounds a bit macabre or weird, but it's really not. My mate who lives in Florida told me about this website, a gang of him & his mates go on horse racing trips, Breeders Cup, Kentucky Derby etc, etc, they go every year for a lads weekend away, anyway, before they travel, they go to this site, get the location of a famous persons grave & go pay there respects while that town. The site gives enormous amount of information in the form of a memorial & location too, sometimes much more detailed than wiki for example, great source of information. I've just been looking at the graves of Major Lance, Richard Popcorn Wylie, Eddie Kendrick, Ivory Joe Hunter, Marvin Gaye, (although his ashes scattered in the Pacific), Ray Pollard, Jimmy Reed, absolutely tons of others, You can search via location too, i.e. Detroit etc or wherever. few I can't find i.e. Berry Gordy, Eddie Singleton, but loads & loads, people can also pay resects & leave a note or virtual flowers etc. Not just for Soul singers but obviously that of interest too me, the irony for me being from Warrington, our biggest musical talent was George Formby, oohhh Mother.......!! But does anyone else use this website? Anyway, go check it out & pay yr respects. Cheers ears. Aid.
  20. Thanks for the 'heads-up' on that one ('heads-up' being our latest bull sh@t expression in meetings at work, makes me want to scream! ), just downloaded it, excellent, also love the Dr Love flip as mentioned above by Ted, ace track too. Cheers ears Aid.
  21. Anyway, got to fly now, someone's wrote 'retard' all over my car window's & it's gonna take me ages to lick it all off. Chao for now. Aid.
  22. I had a copy of Coaster's Crazy Baby a very long time ago & I seem to remember the flip side to that was one of the worse tracks ever heard to mankind, something about bellbottoms??
  23. I I'll certainly take your word for it Bahaar. Must have joined em later on then.
  24. Is this the flip to Dr Love Ted was talking about?
