Comedy Sale Of The Day
Not a comedy sale, more a tragedy really, lovely, lovely soulful record but trashed, seller reckons vg+?? Nice record to own if only in was in some kind of condition, shame that. https://www.ebay.com/itm/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=360427544913+#ht_1740wt_1092 Aid.

BobA's UK Scene Questions
I was talking to a lad at Lowton who has a personal collection of 50,000 & he said he's never sold a record in his life, said he doesn't go out much either. Aid.

I Need Of A Record Player
If you've got a decent hifi shop on your local high street, you can pick em up a very reasonable prices these days. You can also pay thousands if your into that, but a company called Project do a Debut model & your probably looking at £150 or so for what a very decent turntable. AId.

Which Genera Of Music Is Your Passion ?
Most black music coming out of Detroit from mid to late sixties, but my tastes have changed from when I was a 'young en' at Wigan, cringe at some of the pop stuff we liked back than, amongst all the great tunes we were brought up on. And as I was away from the scene for a couple of decades after Wigan, I'm still catching up & discovering some great stuff I never knew back then, stuff like Combinations, Louis Paul, Salt & Pepper, Blendels, Fortson & Scott, so always getting into some that's new to me. Also like my music a bit mid to down tempo too, that's probably an age thing, but a lot of that 'Riker' music wasn't very good. But do have eclectic tastes too, from Jazz or Mozart to Joy Division but soul always takes centre stage for me. Like Sharon Jones 'Soul Time' too, good to think this stuff is coming out these days. Etta James Has Died In Califonia
What a voice, what a troubled life she had too, seems goes hand in hand. RIP Etta. Aid.

Worst Condition Record Ever?
Funny one really, I was watching this, beaten up but a nice record, decided too trashed in the end, went for nothing though. https://www.ebay.com/itm/370574269193?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649#ht_500wt_689 Aid.

Common Labels/rare Records.?
Great tune this Tony, massive production, love it. Aid.
-
Common Labels/rare Records.?
Just add to that though, if you get a record known to be rare, a few copies coming up for sale within a few months of each other, shouldn't detract from it's actual rarity? Bit confusing this. Aid.
-
Common Labels/rare Records.?
I like this definition because I never know what truly defines a rare record, I probably mix scarce up with rare, suppose I should be more discerning, you live & learn, although I see you have the Hy-Tones as rare, which I thought it was. Aid.
-
Common Labels/rare Records.?
Yeah, noticed that bit of 'salesmanship', he he. See other items? That Eptones looks interesting, no bargains for sure. That one sided Beatles on Swan looks the best investment Wouldn't of minded that Joe Jama though, out of my league that. Aid.
-
Common Labels/rare Records.?
Sorry I know it's off topic, but don't really want to start a new thread (it's a rare record, just not a major label ), but as a matter of interest, anyone else been watching this https://www.ebay.com/itm/Mega-Rare-Northern-Soul-45-JOE-JAMA-MY-LIFE-OPTIMUM-45-JOES-BOYHOOD-HOME-/110799765495?pt=Music_on_Vinyl&hash=item19cc2e3ff7#ht_3047wt_1219 From Joe Jama's actually boyhood home. Just thought it was interesting, few other goodies in other items too. Aid.

Common Labels/rare Records.?
Another big label, Decca, don't see too many Johnny Caswells hanging around these days. Aid.
-
Common Labels/rare Records.?
And what a tune that is, love it. Aid.
-
Common Labels/rare Records.?
Another record on Mercury. Jeffery Bowen I'll Get By, never seen a demo, not saying not out there, just don't see around much when browsing. Manship got issued priced in his book, don't know what a demo would make?? Aid
-
Common Labels/rare Records.?
Topics Booking Up Baby on Mercury, think this goes for a bob or two. Aid.
-
Common Labels/rare Records.?
A few major labels with quite hard to find rarities. Hy-Tones You Don't Even Know My Name on Bell. Jay Traynor Up & Over on ABC. (prob not as rare, but still quite expensive) Aid.

Betty Wright - (Artist Of The Week)
One the first records I ever bought was Betty Wright Where Is The Love. Think mine was on a U.K RCA if memory serves. Record long gone, but still love it. Aid.
